Tekle haimnot, to his credit made an effort to repel the Mahdist even conquering Gedariff but Menelik as power [deleted] as he was, he not only refused to fight the Mahdist but also flirted with the Italians who was in stand still against Yohannes in Dogoli.

If Menelik contributed to this endeavor and fought against the Dervish along Teklehaimanot, and Let Yohannes to deal with the Italians, the outcome of history would have been different.

I’m pretty sure Menelik was to busy subjectating the southern and western provinces. A very foolish mistake he could have joined forces with TekleHaymanot instead of incorporating Nhiggers into the Abysinnian realm

I guess he saw Hatse Yohannes as a enemy and didn’t want to help him and his subjects (TekleHaymanot)
