This is a well-written speech. I have heard a few of the PM minister speeches before, but tiday’s speech is outstanding.
Overtime,he seemed to realized the noisemakers are no more a regional politics players. And by extension he implies he and his party represent the nation’s interest. He is right.
His best argument he made however is about the transitional government proponents. In fact, he made fun about them. These are people who formed parties, but never won a single election, But these so called politicians say, he argues, they want to form a transitional government which represents the whole Ethiopians . Privately, he might laugh at their argument. Guys, you have not won a single election. You cannot necessarily represent people who do not vote for you. He has a point.
Moreover, he seemed to have believed political friendship was being made out of mere opportunism. Who would have conceived Lidetu and Jawar could gang up against the Abiy’s government.
Two years ago, Abiy had been forced to tame every tribal and opportunist politicians. He had to. Tribal politics was still had the stronghold then.
Now, he feels differently. In fact, in the last two years , I believe, he had learned Ethiopians are not tribal in their politics as tribal politicians wanted us to believe . His speech today is not a speech that cannot be delivered by any tribal politician dead or alive. This is a speech only given an Ethiopian politician.

Two corrections. One, he seemed to have realized the noisemakers are no more than a regional ...
Second, the sentence before the last should be read His speech today is not a speech that can be delivered ...
