If the people of Ethiopia help us in this critical time in our history, it would be appreciated. I know, except for few, most Ethiopians do understand our struggle against tyranny. With or without Ethiopians help, the regime is going to fall. He tries to sell that narrative he is the bulwark against TPLF expansion and hegemony. He is just trying to make himself a useful idiot at the service of PM Abiy Ahmed.

It seems that is why they wish him (PIA) dead. But baseless wishes don't often come true. And empty wishes demonstrate the wisher's incapability and failure.
TPLF and EPLF (Eritrean People's Liberation Front), though they managed to cooperate in the past, have had differences and tension on issues regarding territorial boundaries and balancing nation-building and freedoms of ethnic groups, among others. One may read Richard Reid.(2011). Frontiers of Violence in North-East Africa: Genealogies of Conflict Since C.1800 to get a grasp of the conflicts. EPLF/PFDJ's (PIA doesn't have a stand different than his organization on the two issues) attitude favors nation-building through democratic unity of members of diverse ethnic/cultural groups. As everyone now realizes, TPLF 's ideology, in its state structure and governance, greatly gave more emphasis to the vertical separateness of ethnic groups than to national unity. That imbalance and an economy ruined by conflicts and corruption is currently destabilizing Etiyopiya.
PIA & Co. have decades ago predicted that TPLF's ideology of imbalance, that epitomizes ethnic separate freedoms and the right to secession, without proper consideration to nation-building through democratic unity of ethnic groups, would tend to create vertical ethnic conflicts, disunity and instability in Etiyopiya or Eritrea. Abboy "SebHat" now purposely distorts the Eritreans' attitude as if it is necessarily contrary to ethnic freedoms and language-ethnic federalism, or is only in favor of a unitary State. He will not succeed, for TPLF had tried what it believed was right and its ideology ended up to be a failure in theory and practice.
If they continue holding back from publicly criticizing many of their past policies and practices and join the Etiyopiyan Prosperity Party to redeem themselves, new political forces could, sooner or later, replace them through peaceful elections. Keep on watching the drama. The TPLF leaders are hopelessly obsolete, physically and ideologically (undemocratic capitalist and ethnic nationalist confused communists).
Regardless of what awaits for the TPLF leaders, we, Etiyopiya(ns) and Eritrea(ns), need to do the right things: cooperate to strengthen peace and stability, let our respective populations improve their living standards (empower communities to have access to water, electricity, food security, healthcare, etc.), run public affairs peacefully/legally and enhance trade and commerce. Enough with wars, conflicts, displacements and conflict news. Let us learn how to live in peace again.
