It seems Trump approaches Dr Abiy to undercut the power of Dr Tedros. If Ethiopia denies Dr Tedros the support he dearly needs to remain in power, the African Union will follow suit. Then it will be easier for Trump to pressure other countries to pile pressure on Dr Tedros to resign. Abiy Ahmed keeps lull towards Tedros; he isn't enthused to advocate in favour of him probably because of Tedro's role in persecuting Abiy Ahmed when he was a Foreign Minister. Abiy seems disposed to avengeTedros now. I think Trump and Abiy will have a common ground, this time, on Tedros, and they could amend their relationship once spoiled by the GERD negotiation. Mark my word!
