Tigray is the first settlement of Jews who came to Ethiopia as a result of the relationship between Queen Saba of Ethiopia and King Solomon of Israel. King Solomon wanted to rule Ethiopia through his son, Menelik. Menelik's Mother, Queen Saba was very power and exapnded her kingdom to Yemen and Arabian Peninsula.

Tsion was the name of a holy city of Judea, one of the kingdoms of ancient Israel. Aksum Tsion is the local name given by Tigrayans showing the historical connection between Aksum and the ancient city of Tsion. St. Mary Tsion Cathedral at The Holy City of Aksum is one of the first churches in the world.

Only the connection between Tigrayans and Jews explains the ancient t history of Israel and Ethiopia.
