I heard recently a BBC-TV host commenting about "the dividend of the pandemic"

This was one single instance of an opportunity in even a crisis of such scale as the current pandemic engulfing the whole world, where there is a promising development in a sea of a mega crisis. The TV-Anchor was referring to the reportedly reached upon truce between the waring factions of the Yemen conflict, one of the global hotspots of conflicts of in the world today. The truce was motivated by an attempt to fight against the global pandemic as a priority instead of fighting against each other, currently.

There was also an indication that the same may happen with regard to the conflict in Syria.

If you are in fact concerned about the well-being of the people you are claiming to fight for, then there is no sensible reason to endanger the lives of many of those same people by exposing them to the danger of global pandemic.

While those who were fighting in a war like the one in Yemen and (possibly soon also in Syria) are laying down their guns,to pick up the fight against global pandemic there are those who are claiming to pick-up the same gun in earnest now. The convulsed political game in Ethiopia, I may call it.
