Well, I thought Fana is not state owned directly, or is it? Probably party afliated but not state owned, right?

As to the other concern you might have the possible solution could be in trying to counter balance the weight, I do appreciate that people are concerned about the new phenomenon of pheenxee trying to dominate many institutions of the country, but I think the palace is not yet among those dominated by the new religion, I just feel so but could be wrong.

Ok, I have now an updated information that this is not only on Fana TV but also on ETV, Addis Ababa TV aka Addis TV and Walta TV, all state or state affiliated TV channels. To be fair, the spiritual programs also include Orthodox, Muslim and Catholic services. So I heard it is balanced and the four religions get equal air time. The rational behind this gesture is so that people don't go to church/mosque but instead get the services in their homes. Not a bad idea if you ask me. Anyway, here are Addis TV reports about the new religion services (orthodox, pente, catholic, islam):

Orthodox

Pente

Catholic

Islam
