Do not be fool yourself Woyane is not Issayas enemy, no the real enemies are the two divided one ethnic are his enemy to topple him from power. Issayas never asked what is good for Eritrea but himself as you know all the data about this man decision making. He wanted to give Assab to Mengistu and let him get his independent with the remaining north Tigray and be a president before too old or he may not succeed specially the time of uncertainty Shaebia was surrounded by Amhara forces in the two hills.

Issayas wanted to be part of the coalition of Ethiopia federalism so long they put him as the president of the country but Meles and Adwa wants it then he declared independent and became president.

Issayas would have loved to reconcile with Tigray but his two enemies the divided one ethnic Tigray will oust him and he wants to close his border and let the people suffer so long the policy is good for his stay in power. There is nothing what so ever helps Issayas to stay in power by reconcile with south Tigray, why should he do that give up to the enemies???

Issayas will be the winner either way the election result:

If Abiy wins and can control the country including Tigray then Issayas will win to put his son to be a president for life until his grand son takes over.

If Abiy losses the election and Abiy tries to take power by force or steal the election result, the country will dismantle immediately and Issayas will win to see his mortal enemy the name of Ethiopia and Amhara go to hell while is alive.

So, Issayas is sitting in a winging two scenario outcomes and both will serve him very well.
