The total energy production from the GERDP is 15,692 GWH .Currently, the GERDP and Genale Dawa 3 (GD3) are under construction and
shall be completed in the near future. The completion of these two hydro-power stations shall double the production of hydro-power energy in the country. The installed capacity of the Genale Dawa 3 hydro-power plant is 254 MW with energy production of 1200 GWH. It is located in Oromia region and gets most of its surface water from the same region since its source is from there.

Oromia region Power Capacity 3,117 MW Energy Prod 10,414 GWH percentage contribution to national grid 34.64%
South region Power Capacity 1,062 MW Energy Prod 3,704 GWH percentage contribution to national grid 12.32%
Benshangul region Power Capacity 600 MW Energy Prod 1,569 GWH percentage contribution to national grid 5.22%
Tigrai Region Power Capacity 60 MW Energy Prod 192 GWH percentage contribution to national grid 0.64%
