"They are trying to use the recent loans and the upcoming election as a leverage to pressure the PM. The negotiation should be postponed until after the election. Let them hold the loan if they choose to do so. The PM made mistake to get into this shady US intervention. He corrected it when he decided to not participate on the last round. Now he needs to stand firm and resist. On this we are all behind him. Ethiopia had postponed negotiations when Egypt and Sudan were facing domestic problems. Similarly, the negotiations should be postponed until after Ethiopia deals with its more national pressing issues including the upcoming election. Ethiopia has always been a strong ally to US and it is a big miscalculation of the current US's administration to force Ethiopia to enter into an agreement which has a detrimental effect to many generations to come. The PM should take this agenda to the African Union, too and bring other African countries by Ethiopia's side. The issue of GERD is an obvious just cause and America's undue influence is a typical case of neo-colonialism and imperialism, which African countries should unanimously reject."

Yes, national interst overrides sectorian interests and other kind of fissures on domestic issues.

We are united and behind the government on the future of our country and its interest, Jawar got it right here, in my view.

Defend,

Every time Jawar warms up you guys, warm up, when he turns cold, you turn cold. Jawar is playing game. The OLF are programmed and brainwashed on how to play Ethiopians. I have learned that when situation rises, OLF goes on the attack, when it is threatening for them, they turn Ethiopian within a day. People just have to see the Chameleon nature of Merara Gudina as well they are all like that. That being said I worry when individual like Jawar turns warm all of the sudden because this means, he maybe getting some kind of deal.
