I just saw parts of the film TPLF made about Mehari Tecle, the Asmarino guy who they call "Mussie" and I really felt sorry for Tigrai
They have so much admiration for anything Eritrean, which shows in their infantile adoration for "Mussie".
They would look at him with big wide eyes as if he was a Hollywood star
And the thing they admired most was the way he smoked his cigarettes, just like what they imagined how an "Asmarino" guy would do
Hiluf and Seyoum Mesfin would look at him as if he was the "Marlboro man" himself from a western film.
He jokes about how he used to eat "sekondo" in Asmara, when the fara Seyoum asked for shiro "chimari" in a tela bet in Adi Daero.
The funny thing is that Mehari Tecle was a poor disadvantaged guy in Asmara, a "fara" who never picked up the bad habit of smoking
But in Tigrai, he was instant celebrity, a sophisticated guy and the whole TPLF would go on a hunting expedition to get him cigarette
They would do anything for an Asmarino guy, who they admire so much.
No wonder they hate us now, when their admiration and love gestures were rejected.
I wish I lived in Tigrai during my stud days, with the instant celebrity status I'd get, I'd have fathered 10 Meqele kids in just one summer

Another funny thing in the film is, when the whole nascent TPLF commits itself to free its Asmarino celebrity from a jail in Shire, and they had a small skirmish with the Shire polis, the TPLF fighters would make somersaults while running towards the police station even when there was no hinder on their way, guys you have to see this, they would be running towards the police station and they would make a somersault, with two three flips, just as they thought Asmarinos would do while fighting.

A nobody in Asmara is an instant celebrity in Tigrai, I wish I moved to Mekelle when I was an Asmarino nobody and got to be an instant celebrity. In Asmara where he grew up or in the EPLF, nobody paid "Mussie" much attention. In Tigrai, he became a Demi-god.

Cultural superiority is when the enemy that you despise admires you. It is fukking unfair to you Aziza, you should renegotiate your relationship with us.
