04 Feb 2020 – (EP) Benito Mussolini's rise to power in Italy in 1922 brought profound changes to the colonial government in Eritrea. The new Italian government chose Eritrea to be the industrial centre of Africa, particularly the Horn of Africa and the Middle East.
In Asmara alone, there were more than 2198 industrial factories in 1939, producing [deleted], cooking oil, pasta, construction materials, packing meat, tobacco, hide, electricity and other household commodities (exports of coffee boomed in the thirties as well), and most of the employees were Eritrean citizens, some even moved from the villages to work in the factories.
The establishment of industries made Eritreans highly skilled professional workers in different practices which made Eritreans be highly sought after employees by the successive Addis Ababa rulers to build them modern infrastructures in Ethiopia.
The involvement of Eritreans in the industries, trade and fruit plantation was expanded across the nation, while Eritreans owned some of the plantations.
Consequently, unlike today, the living standard of life in Eritrea in the 1930s, 40s and 50s was considered one of the best in Africa.
No need to write about current Eritrea's economic led by the business shy government in Asmara other than to compare the pictures provided.

I agree with you, Pushkin. We, Eritreans as a whole, should compare ourselves with street beggars in Mekele, Tigrai, and be happy because we are better.
This stupid regime and people like you, brought this proud and cultured people to this level.
Every time a question is raised, you guys post the pictures of some destitute old ladies and tell the Eritrean people to be glad that they are not like them.
Since when is a street beggar in Tigrai becomes a yard stick for the measure of our wellbeing?
Why can't you feel the pain of your people? Woyane might have hurt our people, but they are supposed to do that, because we are at war? But why does PFDJ destroy the fabrics of our own society? All the horrors TPLF dreamed to happen to the people of Eritrea, EPLF made those dreams come true!

Agames pretending to be Eritreans & advocating on behalf of Eritrea only hasten the mistrust thus help isolate Tigray even more. TPLF will never see power again it was historic accident. Why don't you advocate for the rights of your 2 million & five hundred people who are in grave danger of survival instead of engaging day and night on garbage news about Eritrea. Eritrea has been halted from any development activities during the past 3 decades due to sanction & war. Now it is time where we can accelerate our development in spite of shouts by the evil Agames like you.

Pushkin, I know you are a fellow Eritrean. So I am not going to lie and label you as something else.
But then again, Eritrea as an entity before and after independence, never had such cruel enemies as your demigod PIA, and your cohort.
Eventually, the people will defeat the evil dictator and Eritrea will rise again.

During Italy, Eritrans were allowed to study only to Grade 4!!
