striking how many students are in one class room. they are like 15 or so. no wonder majority of residents send their kids to private schools. only the most low income send their kids to public schools. there are some public schools that are trying to do their best though - like this one.

I did not see the video I will see it later but you will find always exceptional public schools. the point is how u make a majority of the public school work.temari wrote: ↑05 Feb 2020, 04:44striking how many students are in one class room. they are like 15 or so. no wonder majority of residents send their kids to private schools. only the most low income send their kids to public schools. there are some public schools that are trying to do their best though - like this one.
to me, it is very simple all u have to do is, introduce profit motive and competition.... even in America they try School voucher

giving the student one laptop might be the solution with internet access and with a lot of educational software load into the laptop will make the student learn faster and the quality of education will be improved. yes, the cost of one laptop might look expensive but think about the students might keep the computer for five years and if he doesn't buy any book that alone might cover the cost ... and building the school and hiring teachers, etc etc.

Talking about "ማንነት"? The truth is, kids lose it in the diaspora than back home. That is proven by looking at the number of our kids in youth detention centers across US cities. It is sad situation.
What is amazing to me is, "school of tomorrow" and the like of it in AA are better than the best private schools anywhere in US. The kids are prepared to go to any Ivy League Universities here in the US. I know three who go to Ivy league Schools with ease as we speak. They are highly prepared to attend any University.
I was familiar with the best private schools before EPRDF came to power in AA, they weren't as good as today. It's mind blowing to me to hear how far private schools run by Ethiopians have come along! Yes, Wingate was good but, the highest score kids are recruited to go there in the first place therefore, that won't count. "School of Tomorrow" like schools take any student who can afford to pay tuition and make them scholars.
The thing is, for Ethiopian kids, going to school back home is the ideal; it is better for their mental health as well; the issue however is parents need to have what it takes to send their kids to private school.
On another note, I wonder if Takele Umma hired all those Rift Valley University graduates because they were the brightest students fed by "School Of Tomorrow" types to Rift Valley?
How would public school graduates compete for top jobs then?

Answer:- introduce profit motive and competition. ... even in America they try School voucher to improve their public school.. in short make them like private introduce profit and lose.. the parent will tell u if u r doing go job or not by sending their kids... if u become failed school u can even taken over by good public school management team this means one good public school can run many school .... just like school of tomorrow have ten school as public school den u can buy out failing school with voucher and making more money .. again make more money...How would public school graduates compete for top jobs then?
in short you remove the money factory from student parent side ... they might not pay or pay less .. but why would u remove the money factory from the teacher and the management side the school director must have financial motive to improve the school

You are not getting what the underline issue that is. The very issue of Education what does it mean? Is it eventually to benefit yourself, your country or other nations? I second all three but based on what? What is that education really? You completely over looked what happened in Wingate and Meles Zenawi. Over all you have to use your educaion for the right purpose, if you are not careful it is brainwashing of mass to benefit certain countries
