Messi would appreciate Isak.

Sport: nevertheless he said Wednesday, that he will not recruit to recruit. If he doesn't find a player who does the trick, he won't push any further. In this sense, Messi would have breathed the name of a new star: Alexander Isak. According to Don Balon, the Argentine striker appreciates the qualities of the giant Swedish (1.90m) of Real Sociedad. "La pulga" thinks that, his qualities and his age (20 years) could serve the interests of Barça this season. And, above all, do not overshadow his friend Suarez on his return.

Zombie: Low level Cadre of Isayas, the Enemy of the Eritrean People.

While it is good to read and see a fellow Eritrean doing good in his/her profession, your maligned intention to capitalize on the success of Alexander Isak to paint a rosy picture of Eritrea and when many young Eritreans are dying and suffering inside and outside Eritrea at the same time is so low. So low that only cheap prostitutes can vie for.

Dear Sabur: Why do you have to see things in that way?

Let us put aside whether Zmeselo is a "low level Cadre of Isayas" or "Indeed Zombie" or not, he posted a news report about Alex Isak. The question that we should check to answer is whether what Zmeselo posted is true news or fake news. You also agree that the Eritrean Swede is doing good in his career, and you wished him well. The issue is not even exclusively about Zmeselo or Issaias or Eritrea. The issue is your type of reasoning that is at fault. Why do you have to stretch this news report and connect it to something unrelated. It is a fact of life that some Eritreans are dying or suffering, and others are not. Alexander Isak's success does not represent or imply that every Eritrean in the world is doing as good as he is. His success is inspiring but cannot erase the sufferings of others. Facts and truths are universal, and they are not the property of this group or that group. Why do you think the way you do? Let the truths, rosy or gloomy, all come out, and ultimately people shall judge for themselves.

If you are convinced that "many young Eritreans are dying and suffering inside and outside Eritrea," please share/publicize the facts that convinced you or studies that you read/made, or are in news reports. Established facts should be owned by all Eritreans, and in fact by all humanity. Are you trying to say that you are not willing to accept facts about Eritrea(ns) if those facts are against your political intentions? That is not good at all. It is a disuniting habit, and that is bad. Regardless of our other differences, facts must be accepted as facts. Facts and truths must be our common grounds. Do we like the truths discovered or not is a secondary issue, but they must first be known by all interested.

ERITREA’S INTERRUPTED DEVELOPMENT

Friday, 31 January 2020

By: Berhane Woldu
Hostility between Eritrea and Ethiopia will be history, within five years
President Isaias Afwerki- 2013.

The year 2018, was a game changer. The Minority Regime Weyane (TPLF) in Ethiopia had finally collapsed, and East Africa has once again become a region of peace and hope. The Eritrean Ethiopian border verdict, was accepted by the new leadership of Ethiopia. Normalization between the two countries, was restored. Agreements on economic, social and regional peace was reached. The Eritrean government: who has for long advocated and worked for the cooperation of East African nations in the development and regional peace, was more than glad to welcome the new political climate.

Eritrea’s economic, social and political development was interrupted by war and no peace no war. Year 2020; Eritrea is picking up its interrupted national development program colossally. The first seven years after independence Eritrea was registering, 7 to 10 % economic growth. In 1998, after the war of aggression and economic sabotages by ill willed governments Eritrea’s economic development stagnated for short time. Most of the foreign currency reserves was used to defend the country, the trifling foreign investments left the country. Eritrea in 2004, imported $514 million dollars of consumable goods and exported $95million with a trade deficit of $423million dollars. Basing om these economic indicators, the Economic experts in the Western countries forecasted that Eritrea as a country will cease to exist due to the collapse of it economy. Forgetting the resilience of the people and leadership, and their ability to turn challenges into opportunity.

In 2000, the Eritrean government had to re-structure and reform its economic development program due to war and hostilities by Western countries and their subjects. The Holistic development program and the structural transformation that was planned to leap Eritrea to economic emancipation and into a prosperous nation, was interrupted. Hence, the government was forced to readjust its Macro-economic policy. Nevertheless, Eritrean government didn’t deviate from its Cardinal principle of Social Justice; meaning that those who have been on the underside of history must see that there is a qualitative difference between repression and freedom. And for an Eritrean, freedom translates into having a supply of clean water on tap, having electricity; being able to live in a decent home and having a good job; to be able to send their children to school and have accessible health care.

The Government of Eritrea was cornered from every angle by its enemies, that wanted to bring the leadership down through economic sabotage. There were shortage of foreign currency, shut out of international money market and high prices for its import. Hostilities were none conducive, to implement the desired investment programs. To alleviate these challenges, Eritrea halted the liberal Macroeconomic program of 1994. New macroeconomic policies were introduced and public spending was increased (Neo- Keynesian), structural and sectorial reform were devised. The government shifted from rational development program, to centralization. Through Public financing Eritrea in the twenty years of no peace no war spent billions of US dollars on infrastructure, power plant, roads, dams and social services (schools, hospitals, clean water electrification). Eritrea endowed with Political stability, low corruption, skilled and industries labor force effortlessly readjust its policy to overcome challenges. What has been attained to date is a miracle; looking at the major economic sectors i.e. Social services, Agriculture, infrastructure, health, and education one can testify to the accomplishments.

The Eritrean government set the strategic priorities regarding development programs that require large capital expenditure sectors by sector; infrastructure, Argo-industry, health, and education. In order to build the infrastructure and related development projects, the Government formed national construction companies. These companies built projects worth $2.5 billion estimated cost of construction, $950 million dollars cost of hospitals and government office, $3.5 billion water supply dams and agroindustry infrastructures. In order to be competitive and export high value-added agricultural products the Agro-industries has created a post harvest system, sanitary standards and technical requirements in packing and labeling.

Education being the fundamental right that all nationals are entitled to, the government built elementary, junior, secondary schools, vocational schools and colleges. According to the administration of higher education; to date the Warsaye Yekalo School has prepared 898,624 high school students to take the matriculation exam and 69,040 have gone to colleges’. In 2005 the national vocational training center was established 19,993 have graduated in administration, trade, machinery, agriculture etc. 47% of them are female graduates. The vocational training center was expanded in 2007 to accommodate the population growth of young adults; through these endeavor 645,394 students have had the opportunity to graduate. These graduates are now working in: mining, finance, logistics, health, communication, construction, customs and trade. Six colleges and one University that are accredited by the Nordic States, provide higher education. The University Of Eritrea Institute Of Technology, which has seven thousand (7,000) students is being expanded with modernly equipped IT centers in conjunction with University of Eastern Finland.

In 2014 the Government took drastic and unexpected move that surprised many Nations, financial experts, speculators and money launderers. The Eritrean national bank issued new currency, replacing old Nakfa. The supply of money was managed, demand pull inflation was controlled, and velocity of money was regulated by the economic activity rather than speculation. Financial exchanges were made through banks, and Billions of Nakfa walked back to the banks for deposit. Sound monetary policies were achieved. The greed market, black market, hording money, illegal trade and contraband markets were put under control. Tax collection and fiscal policies, were enhanced. The financial sector, which was targeted for sabotage by ill-wishers ended.

In 2017, Eritrea and the United Nation have signed “The Strategic Partnership Cooperation Framework” (SPCF). The SPCF 2017-2021 is aligned to the National Indicative Development Plan inclusive of basic social services, capacity development, food security and sustainable livelihoods and environment sustainability. Economic development projects has picked up. Eritrean National construction companies have started to build roads and housing, that is to be completed by 2023. The government has signed agreements with many international companies in road expansion, housing, agroindustry and work had started. Air, sea and road transport is being expanded. For Eritrea the future is bright and prosperity is within reach and will surpass and outshine, the 2030 Sustainable Development Goal.

Eritrea is a country that is built on shared sacrifices and as such, all it citizens benefit equally. The vision, mission and goal is to build a luxuriant Nation. Not just a few billionaires. In face of all things, Eritrea is marching to economic prosperity.

Are you going to deny the tragic death of Eritreans who persihed in Lampedusa like that of Eri-TV which denied to mention their Eritrean Nationality? What facts do you need ? Go ahead spin it now with your eloquence.

This mantra "ንኺድ ጥራይ" cheap propaganda (ዝጠፈሸ ነውራም ምትላል ) has to stop. Eritrea has lost so many youth and continue to lose and is becoming a country of Old Men and Old Women. Again go ahead spin this one too. But Eritreans can not be fooled forever.

Danakali Puts EPCM Phase of Colluli in Motion

The engineering, procurement and construction management (EPCM) phase and its involved workstreams have commenced at the Colluli sulphate of potash (SOP) project in Eritrea

Jan 31, 2020: DRA has started the review of the Colluli front-end engineering design (FEED), which includes developing and establishing of project systems, project controls and progress measurement monitoring.

DRA has also commenced project management activities and mobilised its own engineering group for the process plant and associated infrastructure work,

the potash company said, adding that the water intake area (WITA) design has also started.

Professional services company Turner & Townsend will be aiding in all phases as well.

Danakali said the purchase deal for a reverse-osmoses (RO) plant at the mine was almost complete; officials are hoping to make the order for its critical equipment next month.

The facility will be used to provide potable and construction water before Anfile Bay WITA is commissioned and feature a pre-tested desalination facility for the onsite bores and portable water. It will be delivered on a timeline similar to the mobilisation of the early works contractor.

The second phase is set to begin next month, with geotechnical works subsequent to that in March.

Colluli is 100% owned by Colluli Mining Share Company, which is a joint venture between Danakali and the Eritrean National Mining Corporation. The project is located 75 kilometres from the Red Sea coast.

Dear Sabur: The news item is 6 years old but that was a fact, and you look much better

The Lampedusa accident was real tragedy. Around 366 lives were lost, and others had suffered.
I am sorry to distance myself from your conclusion that ERI-TV denied that the victims were largely Eritreans. If they knew ahead of time, I would have agreed with you. But that allegation has not been proven true. The victims did not inform ERI-TV that they were on their way, on boat, on October 03, 2013, crossing the Mediterranean Sea to Lampedusa. How, in your view, could ERI-TV know that they were Eritreans? They could not, in my opinion. I believe their plan was initially hidden from the Government. So, ERI-TV repeated shared by European news sources, I believe. This is not a spin. That was what I said then as now. So far, no evidence was produced by anyone to make my opinion invalid. If you find one. I shall change my conclusion. I would not put a direct blame of their demise on the Government, because---so far that I know--- it had no direct involvement with the trip, the arrangements, the communications with safety Italian coast guards' boats, the boat, the fire, the tipping and drowning of the boat, etc.

You can not keep covering up the gross devastation the Dictator Isayas has caused on Eritrea and the Eritrean People.

You asked for FACTS and I provide one. But for you since this is 6 years old, the death of Eritreans is not worthy of Fact and you want Eritreans to forget. Callousness beyond human imagination.

For Eritreans with open eyes, ears, hearts and minds such is frequent occurrences that is still happening and will remain in our hearts and minds.

You try to defend Eri-TV for its callous report of the Tragic death of Eritreans that shook the whole world "because it did not know whether they were Eritreans in the beginning". Wow !

Why did Eri-Tv shy away (fail) to report about those who perished were indeed Eritrean Nationals once it was confirmed by the whole Media later on?

Com'n YAY, you could do better.

This kind spinning is not helping Eritrea and the Eritrean People. It is a crafty design to prolong the dictator's grip in power and to prolong the suffering of Eritreans.

Eritreans can not be fooled for ever.

Dear Sabur: Eritrean Opposition: unite and reconcile with PFDJ and work for the people

Providing ONE FACT is not a mysterious machine that changes all your following statements into FACTS.You've got to continue proving that your statements are facts; or inform the public that what you said are assumptions, exaggerations, or imaginations. You have to understand that people judge you by your frequent statements. You convince people by telling them the FACTS and making reasonable conclusion, and based on that your actions. Remember: FACTS are our common ground.

Don't just condemn and criticize PFDJ, it seems, for ever. That should not be the end of the Eritrean Opposition. The main aim of opposition is to serve the people, not to necessarily overthrow the PFDJ Government.

Forget about Eritreans who choose to be instruments of the TPLF, or the highest bidder. We Eritreans want the Opposition to unite and become an alternative and peaceful political force in Eritrea. And unity is not as hard as the Eritrean Opposition wants us to believe. The solution is to abide by a majority vote.

Get together, review expert studies, debate, and make a common decision by the vote of a majority. You must swear that each one would take the decisions of the group by majority vote as his/her own decision, and commit to implement the common decisions as much as possible/necessary. That is as simply as how unity is arrived at. Unite by majority vote, and serve your people based on your resolutions. That is how diversity and competition for leadership are fairly managed, and people are united. What good is a divided activism for our people's interests? Splinter groups cannot have strength enough to do the desired tasks, and that is why unity is necessary. How else are members of the Opposition to form a democratic government in Eritrea without practicing "democracy" or majority vote now? How could we the people expect you to be able to govern?

I have been repeating since 2003 that the Eritrean Opposition's strategic error was making "overthrowing PFDJ, first, and then democratizing Eritrea" as its main objective. That error has yet to be corrected. The best political objective was to establish a REPUBLIC in Eritrea with (or without) the cooperation of PFDJ, while together defending the independence of the nation. Taking side with the Weyyane was both divisive and unpatriotic. And I suggest that it is best for our people for the Opposition to use its ingenuity and make peace with the Government of Eritrea. Please, discontinue valueless and ineffective or subversive opposition. Let all Eritreans dialogue and come together and serve our people better. How hard is this to understand?

Messi would appreciate Isak.

Sport: nevertheless he said Wednesday, that he will not recruit to recruit. If he doesn't find a player who does the trick, he won't push any further. In this sense, Messi would have breathed the name of a new star: Alexander Isak. According to Don Balon, the Argentine striker appreciates the qualities of the giant Swedish (1.90m) of Real Sociedad. "La pulga" thinks that, his qualities and his age (20 years) could serve the interests of Barça this season. And, above all, do not overshadow his friend Suarez on his return.
