No Somali feels compelled to let know the colour of their clan, and every Somali is free to live wherever they want in Somalia, regardless of the clan they belong to, or the region they originally hail from.

Contrary to what you believe, asking people for their clan is perceived uncivilized among Somalis. Those who are obsessed with clanism might ask people for their clan affiliation in a friendly way, otherwise no one else asks people for their clan directly in Somalia - and among Somalis in general!
