South African President Cyril Ramaphosa has agreed to assist the Ethiopian government to craft a solution to their impasse with Egypt over the Nile dam project. This follows a request by Ethiopian Prime Minister, Abiy Ahmed, who is on an official visit to South Africa. Egypt is blaming Ethiopia for the failure of the latest round of talks on the construction of the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam,


call those negotiator and interview then ... this way Dr. Abiy will not be implcated

1. what is the problem if the dam filled in one years?

follow up question it is not better to fill the dam in just one rainy season and done with it..


2. Egypt want to fill up the dam in 21 years. so ask the guest why not 50 years? why not more?


follow up question if Ethiopia agree with 21 years fill up time would u allowed Ethiopia to use the Nile for irrigation


3. if Nile is blood for Egypt do u know Nile is Ethiopian sole?


4. if Nile is a cow r u asking the Ethiopian to feed the cow and Egypt to drink the milk... without giving any benefit to Ethiopia


5. in Ethiopia million Ethiopian dying in famine because of drought, do u really care about Ethiopian dying or all your concern is Egyptian life..


6. do u know it is in the best interest of Egyptian damming the Nile .. because if Ethiopia get electricity they will stop cutting wood .. if they stop cutting wood more rain fail more water Egypt get...

7. did u every wonder what Egypt will do if they have Nile and Ethiopia said we want 100% share of the water and Egypt get zero %


8. do u understand how hydro dam work because to get the electricity power the water must be released if the want prevented to flow there will be no electricity hence as long as the Ethiopian producing electricity they release the water now tell me where is the problem


9. would u bomb the Nile dam? if u do, do u know the consequence of dam collapse and releasing five years water in one day...

10. do u believe in win win strategy? do u know the American paid the Canadian to build them dam in the rive that they were sharing ? do u want only Egypt to win with the old rule or u want both party to win with the new rule ... let Ethiopia get her power you get your water.. even if you want to bomb the dam u have a lot of time to think about it.. but why would u preemptive strike the dam without knowing what Ethiopia going to do..


11. question did u ever want to use modern drip irrigation system, and ban flood irrigation and did u every considered using Desalinated water ... sea water to drinking water this way Egypt will cut her water dependency...

Not that I am talking against Ethiopia, the Sudan or Egypt, but none of then really own the Nile
Saying a flowing lake belongs to any country is like saying the wind, the hurricane the locust belong to a certain country.
Yes the lakes which are located in a certain country belongs to that country. But that country is not able to control or stop its flow ones the lake is overflowing.
If by any miracle it stops its flow, its citizens will be flooded.
So, if Ethiopia says it will block the flow, then Egypt has the right to demand Ethiopia to not let the flow of the river which originates from Ethiopia when the river wants to do it's natural course and like I say Ethiopia or any other country can not do what nature doesn't allow them to do.
So the only way out of this is not threats, but negotiations how all of the concerned countries can benefit out of it.
Ethiopia saying it belongs to it is not true. Technically Ethiopia doesn't own it. Once it become a river the ownership is null and void.
Saying natural mobile rivers or winds belongs to one country is like blaming hurricane victimes of another country from where the hurricane originates and sue the country of origin.
One can not change its skin colors as much as one can not claim nurture, specially mobile (none stationary) belongs to one.

u have gooood point.. but u r talking about Amhara .. only the Amhara say the Nile belong to them.. the golden and the rest of Ethiopia want to share with Egypt .. the Egypt know those buda that is why they try to manhandle Dr. Abiy

Egypt are smart when they said fill the Nile 21 years they dont mean it .. they just want to settle for 7 years and they dont want Ethiopia to ask them about irrigation or other use... otherwise Ethiopia doesn't dam the Nile they r producing hydro to do that they have to release the water if they released the water Egypt get the water... releasing the water is in Ethiopia best interest hence the Egypt case Ethiopia are going to stop the water is at top idiot .. if Ethiopia block the water we going to be flooded and we going to lose our dam to... the dam should never be filled otherwise the dam will collapse and we cant produce hydro ..

i really doesnt know the Egypt point .. it is not fair for Egypt to ask to get 100% the water without Ethiopia using part of it.. i ask many Egyptian that i meet most of them think we going to stop the water flowing .. which is wrong they r even willing to give us 50% water for our use they'd mind sharing it but the media even the cnn and all other media telling everyone Ethiopia damming the Nile which mean stopping the water.. and the people geting mad and call for war that is how u get good rating and you make news..

the best way for Ethiopian to do is send Arabic speaking Ethiopia and let Ethiopia speak to the people .. so they can understand where we coming from.

i dont know about wind we cant control it up to now but we can control water flow and prevent flooding .. Nile always flood but we can stop that if Egypt allowed us build the Nile dam in fact they should have been the one who build it.. as i give example America and Canada share river but every time Ameirca was flooded so the American paid the Canadian to build dam and regulate the water flow...


the Nile dam is in Egypt advantage if they know it or some one explain to them


1. if Ethiopian get electric power they will stop cutting wood if they stop cutting wood more rain more rain means more water .. that everyone can share

2. Ethiopia are not damming the water they r building hydro dam which is we have to release the water if we do the Egypt will get her water so no harm done.. we use the power with in the water not the water it self ..

3. also Ethiopia need the Nile to go to Egypt why because of evaporation... the water life cycle will be completed when the water rise and cool down again when it reach Ethiopia from Egypt in gas form... if we stop the river going to Egypt then we will not have water because we will not have rain to begin with.. u get rain when the water goes to Egypt rise due to evaporation and push over to Ethiopia by wind and we get rain .. break the water life cycle u have no rain so Egypt have something to do with water life cycle .. so God made us united no human can break it off if u do both will lose

4. another best way is to change the name of Nile dam to Nile water bank this way it we r telling we r not stopping the water flow...a good example is i am not sure but when Ethiopia build Gilgel Gibe hydro dam the BBC and other Western media told the Kenyan Ethiopia going to stop your water .. it was big deal one time but Meles smart they invited Kenyan activist and give them the hydro dam tour and tell them to test the water before and after the dam and they told him it test the same hence no damage is done Ethiopia using the river for hydro and Kenya getting the same water ... now it is over many years no problem of water with Kenya this example must be shown to Egypt

this much i can say .. i will repeat send Arabic speaker even to media to explain our side of the story ... we r not building dam or stop the water we cant stop the water we only need the water power not the water itself Egypt will get the water once the water did it job.. this must be told in Arabic for everyone in Egypt
