Abiy Ahmed blocked a delegation led by Deputy Governor of Shanxi province of China from travelling to Tigray.
The delegation arrived in Addis Ababa yesterday and were expected to arrive in Mekelle yesterday evening.
The delegation aimed to facilitate education and commerce relations between Shanxi and Tigray.
Abiy Ahmed's solidiers stopped the airplane after it started leaving the tarmac of Bole airport.

Similarly, about two months ago, the federal foreign ministry tried to push a group of Ambassadors to cancel their tour in Tigray.

Abiy Ahmed's junta is stepping up its war on the people of Tigray.
