Dr. Abiy's honest war account in Badme
During Dr. Abiy's Nobel Prize acceptance speech, this is what he told the world about the Weyane's war adventure against Eritrea.
".....Twenty years ago, I was a radio operator attached to an Ethiopian army unit in the border town of Badme. I briefly left the foxhole in the hopes of getting a good antenna reception.....it only took but a few minutes. Yet upon my return, I was horrified to discover that my entire unit had been wiped out in an artillery attack."
Well, god saved him that day for a reason. He was selected to do god's work in our region. May god gives you many more years Sir.

This is a great miracle!! May God save him from any future danger!
Re: Dr. Abiy's honest war account in Badme
One of the reasons I respect him and I don’t think he will be like his predecessors when it comes to Eritrea is he has experienced war first hand.
War is not as it’s romanticized on the movies...

I don't believe in miracles or something like that and I don't necessarily agree with everything the good Doctor does or says. But I have a feeling he is probably the best leader that the 130-year-old Ethiopia has. Other than that he begs for aid like any other Ethiopian leader did before him, he brags quite a lot about things that he achieved the same way as his predecessors did and he is clearly egocentric and narcist as all his predecessors were. God bless you and wish you a long life Dr. Abey, if nothing else, for the benefit of our neighborhood. But, I am afraid of the possibility of getting you eliminated by the naysayers and chauvinistic daydreamers that surround you.

Re: Dr. Abiy's honest war account in Badme
many oromos fought there. some were regular soldiers assuming ethiopia was under attack, seeing as how tigray is part of ethiopia.
but.. most were used by the tigrayan elites as minesweepers, unfortunately. they saw eritrea, and the oromo/amara youth as potential powder kegs or enemies, so they saw it as killing two birds with 1 stone as the saying goes.
this is due to our weakness back then, that a tiny minority [they were united, we weren't at the time], were able to use oromos amaras and others as minesweepers. BUT NEVER AGAIN SHALL IT HAPPEN!!

I agree with you; in Tigrena, "Wig'e zey re'aye ce belih" yiblu.
The paper tigers like Wisheyee and alike here in ER and around the world were cheering for the few border town's occupation by the Ethiopian soldiers; not knowing or don't care to know that what the actual soldiers paid a price for Weyane's failed adventure, not to mention that, the tactical withdrawal to higher ground is what kept Eritrea's forces in full intact with minimum casualty. The Weyane literally sent uninformed and less trained Oromos and Amara's youth's to a slaughter house on purpose just to reduce their numbers in order to extend its minority rule without a meaningful military challenge from within after the war eventually ends.

Coward, why didn't you then go to war in 1998 instead of collecting welfare in Ohio? You mother Fkr would have died the minute you hear a sound of gun fire; or you probably would have end up selling your a55 to the Ethio soldiers.

1] Present, if anyone attacks any part of Ethiopia, of course I would encourage Oromos and everyone else to defend them.
Tigrayans are our people- but the TPLF is NOT our people, but they were our enemies, but I blame first and foremost the sellouts within the then OPDO. Without them, the tplf would not have been able to roam at will, my beloved Oromia.
I can distinguish between the average tegaru who is peace loving, and the TPLF elites and cadres.
So the blame goes primarily go OPDO traitors, and then secondly, the TPLF. Eshi?
2] Zmeselo, I agree, however, we have to be wise and weigh our options. An outright invasion of tigray would not be worth the blood and treasure, that would inevitably be spent, to capture the TPLF criminals. I also do not agree with economic sanctions because it would make life miserable for tigrayans who have nothing to do with the dirty politics of the TPLF. Your own President Isayas Afewerki aka Ilma Jagna, said in 1999 that the tplf represents like a village or two from the same city/town, and not the entire tigrayan people. I agree with him.

Yes, the minority junta used the war to get rid off what they called "unwanted" ethnics, the Oromos and the Amaras... so that it can extend its life line for a few more years. It worked for a few years but it couldn't buy it more time. Afetr all, the 5% minority is always minority; and it is put in its place where it belongs. Ethiopians gained nothing from this war except miseary. Remember also, the Weyanes used the war as an excuse to move all the Ethiopian military armaments and also none military resources to Tigray. They profited from this war in many ways

Right, this MF is very bitter indeed. Can't blame him though, I would be too if my daddy had become a good fertilizer in the enemy's landscape

I am sure, you and your sisters are still getting banged in the foxholes of the border area by the Southern Ethiopia soldiers. The only thing you Agames are good at is, having kids from Ethiopian soldiers.....started from Adwa war. Now, go bend your aids ridden a55 to Ye Asir ALeqa Mamo

Great observation, brother Sadacha. That was the belief and stand of the Eritrean government then and that is still the same policy today.Sadacha Macca wrote: ↑12 Dec 2019, 16:121] Present, if anyone attacks any part of Ethiopia, of course I would encourage Oromos and everyone else to defend them.

Re: Dr. Abiy's honest war account in Badme
People like Wisheeye and most Agames would rather hide their coward a55 behind other Ethiopian soldiers than face the enemy. What we Eritreans call "Qedamay Werar Weyane", the best of the best Weyane soldiers and their commanders were whipped out in Zalambessa, Tsorona and Geza Gerellasse, it only then they brought the poor ill trained Ethiopian soldiers to the slaughter house. Those who were lucky to scape the landmines were gunned down by snipper one by one. Weyane committed genocide in that war and Ethiopia got nothing in return.

Re: Dr. Abiy's honest war account in Badme
We Weyane know that the coward Abiy Ahmed fled the battlefield when he heard the incoming artillery fire on his radio. That's why 99.9% of the 170,000 soldiers who died in Badme were all from Tigray. The Amhara and the Oromo ran away like cowards. We Weyane fought all by ourselves with no one's help.kebena05 wrote: ↑12 Dec 2019, 15:02During Dr. Abiy's Nobel Prize acceptance speech, this is what he told the world about the Weyane's war adventure against Eritrea.
