One of the men on horseback, Issa Musafa Issa, said officials in the Oromia region organised the welcome ceremony, and that he woke up before dawn to ride some 20 kilometres (12 miles) to reach the capital.
"The peace prize is not just for him, it's for us," Issa said, adding that he expected officials to give him 500 Ethiopian birr (around $15) for showing up.

We should all thank Obbo Issa Musafa Issa, from the bottom of our hearts, for his honesty and for identifying the correct payment account separate from the Addis Ababa admin coffers, which Takke Gomma keeps dipping his hands into at his pleasure!

Int this case, I am with you. The OPDO rats have nothing to offer to peasants, but deceiving and lying to their teeth. I hope OPDO will get rid off of that land for ever in the next election

I think the farmers riding their horses had been receiving cash for many occasions in the past. Certainly, they received money for riding horse for the እሬቻ celebration. I don't know if this is bad thing. It is like not paying a musical band at a wedding party.

Everyone knows the band that plays at a wedding is paid. When you organize a "support rally" and then pay people to attend, it's cheating. We have every right to mock it!
