Re: Archeologists unearth lost town which is the origins of Aksum
The town is in Tigray, but Ethiopian. It belongs to all semetic people, Amhara and Tigray (including Seraye, Akule Guzay and Hammassen). All Geez speeking people are part of the Aksumite and preaksumite civilisation. There could have been also otherss. We do not know their name.

Yes, of course it belongs to all Ethiopians. Axum belongs to all Ethiopians too! It's only TPLF which tried to deny ownership of it to others as their late frog once said "what's Axum to Wolayita?" We say "Axum is belongs to everyone!"

Re: Archeologists unearth lost town which is the origins of Aksum
TPLF are stupid really. It is stuid to reduce Aksum to one tribe or to one small province. The Nile and The Red sea were under Aksumite Kingdom. Aksum belongs to all Ethiopians (semetic and cushitie communities). History is a continous process. Oromos have joined Ethiopia relatively recently. The Muez people were not probably when Aksum was being built. But every tribe which is in Ethiopia has a share in Aksumite Civlisation. Aksum or Lalibella is a history for all of us.

You cannot make such silly conclusion. The words are in Gee language, not Amharic. Please stop calling Tigrayans "Agamewoch". Agame is one district. It will beinteresting why there is no single distict in Tigray that Amharic as their mother tongue. But there are many Amhara around Bahirdar and Gondar who speak Tigrigna and Amharic. They speak in Amharic, but when they sing, they use Tigrigna words in between.Abaymado wrote: ↑12 Dec 2019, 05:36https://edition.cnn.com/2019/12/11/afri ... index.html

Ethioredsea/democrat said ”ግቦ ጎታ (probably ጎይታ)”
No no probably ጎይቶም
By the way, there is word in Tigrigna ግቦ ጎታ. Is there? You can’t write or translate as wish, idiiiot agammme.

Re: Archeologists unearth lost town which is the origins Bete Amhara
Words and meanings change with time. When you create a word, then after thousand years it might loose meaning and pronounciation. There is nothing Amhara in the aracheological excavations.
Re: Archeologists unearth lost town which is the origins Bete Amhara
Geza Semati = Tigrigna
Bete Semati = Amharic
Also ግቢ is Amharic folks. All historical, Royal and archeological evidences suggest the Royal cliques ruling axum were proto-amharas. The fact they moved to Hayq when Yodit chased them and then to Shoa is evident that they continued un-interrupted lineage of ruling class
