The Treaty of Addis Ababa, signed in October 1896, abrogated the Treaty of Wichale and reestablished peace. The Italian claim to a protectorate over all of Ethiopia was thereafter abandoned, and the Italian colony of Eritrea, finally delimited by a treaty of peace (September 1900).
By the Treaty of Addis Ababa (Oct. 26, 1896), the country south of the Mareb and Muna rivers was restored to Ethiopia, and Italy acknowledged the absolute independence of Ethiopia

A significant number of Eritreans does not want to join Ethiopia. We cannot babysit Eritreans. We need to focus on own people. Delimiting the boundary is necessary and Eritreans can live in Ethiopia as foreigners with visas to be issued. Services should not be free for foreigners including Eritreans. Trade between Ethiopia and Eritrea should be in hard currency as Ethiopia needs hard currency to import machinery or other industria equipments to deveop it's econoy.
