Three fold permanent negative effect of Sidama nation’s referendum on Amhara colonial interest
1. The referendum has permanent confirmatory effect on nation based federal arrangement of Ethiopia, to
say the least. This impairs any future attempt of rearrangement based on geography.
2. The referendum conducted in both Hawassa city and Sidama zone as one entity is good practical analogy for
future self determination referendum of Oromia and its city Finfinnee.
3. Amharic language is going to banned not only in Sidama state but also in other south regional states
because they will see the need to develop their own language and culture parallel with Sidama nation
instead of subjects of Amhara language.
