Language is not only a means of oppression. It i also a means of oppression for those who do not speak the language. In cae of Ethiopia, The Amharic language i a means of exploiting non-Amhara Ethiopia by dominating them and forcing them to speak the language. Those who do not speak the language perfectly as the Amharas do, do not get employed. In Ethiopia, the Amhara do no care or are intersted in the culture and languages of non-Amhara Ethiopians which make about 85% of the population in Ethiopia.
By banning Amharic as a language in Ethiopia, we create a good opportunity to for get the tormenting oppression and humuliation of non-Amhara Ethiopia by amharas. We should ban Amharic music in our TC screens. We should force the nation theatre not to paly Amharic scenes. Weneed to have palys in Oromo, Somali, Tigrigna, aFar and other language except Amharic.
