Re: Jawar MUST be held responsible for this extremely dangerous mess in Oromia region and face justice!!!!!
It is not that simple. These are as the result of deeply ingrained frustrations of marginalization and victimization. Jawar is only an outlet. In any case he can not be held accountable for the current predicament. If anything the people who caused confusion with what happened with his personal security should be held accountable for the crisis. What did you expect him to do? Be silent and accept his fate? He simply let the world know what happened to him. the rest is history. Remember he is seen as an embodiment of the Oromo cause. As a matter of fact this crisis shows that he is a force to be reckoned with. Even as a neighbor, I dread what would happen if something happens to him. That will have cataclysmic effect to say the least.
Although I do condemn any attack on innocent people, the crisis is not as you tried to depict it as 'Islamic and ethnic' terrorism. The Oromos has a just cause of marginalization to which I am always sympathetic. As I said it is a result of years of neglect in finding a solution. Thanks to the Malelit Talibans the issue was institutionalized for the past three decades. Now the hatred is more defined and the dichotomy between ethnic groups become definitive. Unfortunately, the prime minister did not take decisive action to resolve the issue, rather he preferred to give endless rhetorical speeches. The golden rule is, if one person, group or ethnic says that he is a victim, you MUST listen and ease the pain. Instead on the issue of the Oromos, almost always salt is rubbed to their wound. When people spend their time dancing to the songs of MiniliK and other kings recorded by the merchant singers, while they know how the Oromos feel about it, when elites of the chauvinists use every opportunity to amass fortunes from crisis by giving inflammatory speeches and analysis, and when the prime minister spend his time touring and giving speeches with little action, you can not expect rational response from the Oromos. Now the way forward is clear, either the prime minister has to resolve the issue decisively by addressing the grievances of the the Oromos or expect a calamity.

If you were someone who could give an advice to others and feel to shed your crocodile tear for the pain of others, then where have you been when your own so called "nation" was shackled under the worst and repressive regime in the world for decades?Cartmann wrote: ↑25 Oct 2019, 14:22It is not that simple. Cartmann,
Well said. Jawar is a power broker. A God father if you will. He was exposed to assassination. He was angry, but he didn't order the killing of innocent people. Ethiopia is going through hell to bring democratic institutions in place. Ethnic federalism brings a lot of headache. Abiy needs to be far more smarter. He needs to handle young emerging competitors such as Jawar and Eskinder with care.
