A ‘violent and predatory rapist’ has been jailed for life after a court heard he roamed the UK on trains looking for women to attack.

Temesgen Desta, 32, raped a woman in her apartment in Birmingham in March, grabbing her by the throat and forcing her onto a bed before binding her hands with a bathrobe cord.

Temesgen Desta, 31, is wanted in connection with the rape of a 32-year-old woman in the early hours of Friday in Birmingham.

He was caught on CCTV after the woman was attacked in a flat and is also suspected of sexually assaulting another woman in Merseyside the day before.

UK rape victims have the right to protest if their government refuses to hold the perpetrators accountable for their crime.

'Unable to move'
In the earlier attack, he assaulted a 54-year-old woman on a beach. She was left with marks around her neck after he grabbed her throat.
Desta was arrested after a week on the run.
Det Supt Nick Walton, from West Midlands Police, said the violent sex attacks had been "traumatic and distressing" for the women.
"On both occasions he grabbed them by the throat and his victims would have undoubtedly feared for their lives," he said.
"Just hours after his attack in Liverpool he travelled to Birmingham and targeted a woman in her apartment.
"She was raped and then left tied up and unable to move."
