You can not ignore what Habimana said

The chairman of the tournament's organising committee, Aimable Habimana, said the five players went missing from their hotel in Jinja, a city on the shores of Lake Victoria, Uganda's Daily Monitor newspaper reports.

"We have decided to beef-up security around their hotel and the team so that we end the tournament on a good note,” he is quoted as saying
.

If you read between the lines, sounds like - after the game, more will defect. Organizers want tournament to end on a good note. After it's over, they have no excuse to beef up security and block the players from leaving hotel grounds. The hgdef mendef is feverishly attempting to avert a repeat of the PR nightmare after entire team failed to return a decade ago.

This time, entire nation will watch it on TV as hgdef no longer enjoys TV monopoly. This's going to hit hgdef really bad. HGDEF has put the nation up side down, people are going to wonder not about those who defected but those who returned. Why did they return? That's the wrong question in a country under normal government but it's the question millions of Eritreans will ask as no opportunities are created to the Eritrean youth by the rulers with 30 years in seat of government.
