The entire nationalist and senior political elites of Oromo opposed the idea of going back to Zemene Menelik and Lema is smart enough to disassociate from the man he want to destroy him few months ago. This is the winning strategy for both since Abiy Mengistu does not have his own Kilil to protect him except Amhara but you see the feeling of Amhara about him.
