Force them to do it, otherwise they will neve do it.
There is enough money around.
Addis Ababa is too greedy to loose a few millionsof dollars to Mekelle.
Mekelle International Airport is more profitable than Addis Ababa, which means Mekelle will not need any money from Addis Ababa after 2-3 years.
Tigray is simply an interesting tourist destination.
That there is not direct flight to Mekelle holds many tourists back to fly to Aksum or Geralta or Temben or Mekelle or Wukro or Negash Mosque.
We need to force Addis Ababa to enable direct flights to Mekele International Airport.

Mekelle International Airport is more profitable than any airport in East africa because of location. It is cheaper to fly to Dubai from Mekelle than from Addis Ababa to Mekelle. You can pay US$75.00 for a return ticket from Mekele to Dubai, which is good for the business community in Mekelle and Dubai ( they have the most money circulating - they are super rich).

Golden did not see the business opportunites of Mekelle Airport or Mekelle City as the financial centre for Africaand Middle East because people could fly to Mekelle from any part of the world and spend less time. Golden were too busy with Addis Ababa ( building railways and homes). They were manufacturing tanks and machine guns in Bishoftu and nothing in Mekelle.
