የሰሞኑ ትልቅ ውይይት የኢትዮጵያ ትምህርት ሰርአት መውደምና የትውልዱ መደንቆር ላይ ነው ።
በዛሬይቱ ኢትዮጵያ ከፍተኛ ትምህርት የለም የሚለው የዶ/ር ብርሃኑ መደምደሚያ እጅግ ትክክል ነው ።
አሁን አሉ ከሚባሉት 40 ወይም 50 ኮሌጅ ተብዬዎችን አንዳችውም የምርምር ዩኒቨርሲቲ የሚለውን ስም ሆነ መለኪያ አጠገቡ አይደርሱም ። ስለዚህ ወደ ፊት ሁለት ወይም ሶሶት መሰረታዊ ምርምር (ፉንዳሜንታል ሪሰርች) ትኮር የሆኑ ከባድ የእወነት ዩኒቨርሲቲዎች ማቆም ገድ ይላል ።
ከ10 የማይበልጡ መለስተኛ ምርምር (ተግባራዊ ምርምር) ተኮር የሆኑ የእውነት ኮሌጅ ተባሉ ዩኒቨርሲቲ ማቆም ግድ ይላል ።
የቀሩት በሙሉ 30ቹ ማህበራዊ ኮሌጅ (ኮሚኒቲ ኮሌጅ) መደረግ አለባችው ። ትኩረታቸውም ሙያ ላይ እሆን አለበት ።
የሶስቱም ሲስተሞች አክሬዲቴሽን አለም አቀፍ መለኪያ ላይ ማቆም ።
ለዚህ ብቁ ያልሆኑት ወደ ሁለተኛ ደረጃ ት/ቤት ወይም የድህረ እድሜ ተማሪዮች ማእከል እንዲደረጉ ግድ ነው

What happened to Revelation ? Where is he ? Did he not find the “ conspiracy” which Birhanu is upto ?

We were lead by leaders who publicly claimed saying "we don't need quality, we need just quantity" and crafted the corresponding policy accordingly.
Now it seems to me just a sort of "wuha qedu, wuha melesu" and now we are all for quality, suddenly.
Accreditation is a kind of quality assurance of the subject (product) under consideration. In the case of University accreditation is a title that the concerned university is qualified to give the educational training it claims to offer qualitatively according to its name. This is a high level educational performance quality assurance.
What about the rest of the institutions (organizations) in the country? Do they really have some kind of quality assurance (abbreviated as QA in the rest of the world) procedure in place that will guarantee that the product they provide to the market (the wider public) has got the required quality is in place?
Do many of the companies in the country have got a kind of procedure for QA? If we have not even yet “accredited” our own home-grown coffee to have the best quality standard that corresponds to its status as the birth-place of coffee, then the distance to when we will achieve accrediting our universities must be very far away, I am afraid.

Education quality should not be compromised for the sake of quantity. I live in USA. Americans who have had four year university degrees and above are around twenty percent. But USA is the leading wealthiest country in the world . Why ? Because some of the best universities in the world are located here. They produce the best academic elites. Those elites are the engines for wealth formation. I personally believe the world wealth largely was created by brain powers , not labor. Ethiopian higher education should focus on quality . We already have had enough college graduates who do not read the diploma they received .

In a knowledge driven society, the first order of business is building a top quality system of higher education with top qualified system of governance and very high code of eligibility - code of accreditation and degradation. It is that qualified institution of higher learning that is also going to develop systems and standards for all other industries and trades in the society such as certifications, licensure etc. When the knowledge industry of a nation itself is vacuous and sham all other sectors of the society and economy are zones of darkness. Here we are talking about a problem that larger than any other with the exception of the total social collapse itself. 110 million people conducting their existence based on ignorance while the world is in the midst of the 4th industrial revolution is simply tragic to say the least.
