Dear Ato Yohannes Buayalew,
I heard you saying that had it not been for your fathers Ethiopians would have spoken Italian. Sir, for Cushitic people and others for whom Amharic is not their mother's tongue, there is no difference between Amharic and Italian languages. It doesn't matter if the colonialist came from far away or from the nearby. It doesn't matter if the colonialist is white or black in color. Colonialist is colonialist. Cultural imposition is cultural imposition.
One thing I agree with you, no one shall impose his/her language and culture on others forcefully. Oromo shouldn't impose their culture on others and others shall not impose their language and culture forcefully. But if some one or group thinks he/she benefit by accepting that culture and language that could be done voluntarily.

Masud,
I am sorry that I decide to reserve my right to amend or oppose part of your opinion as stated here in the quotation.
All colonialist are not same relative to their subjects and how they undertake colonialism. Abyssinian colonialists came from most poor least developed nation and thus came with empty hand of technology. In stead they came with lice and leper disease of them to infect our society. Therefore, Abyssinia colonialists never be compared to Italian colonialists who conquer Ethiopian empire for five years and in the mean time made long lasting infrastructure which is now before our very eyes.
Accordingly, Italian colonialist would have made great things if would have been stayed little more. Consider Eritrea and Oromia. Eritrea is by far more civilized compared to Oromia consequent to their corresponding colonial regime. Because Oromia was subjugated by the most diseased, poor and savage Amhara kings and hence acquired leprosy from and descendants of Menelik, less civilization from his successors and in regime confusion because of lack civilized democratic administration for their is only kingship.
So we better understand them like this!

AbebeB,
I do understand the difference between the savage settler black colonialist and the civilized colonialist. I do also understand the common characteristics of colonialism including imposition of their culture, language, religion on the colonized and exploitation of resources.
It is also important to note that Eritreans were colonized by Amhara. Eritreans fought Amhara colonialism for about 30 years. The difference between Oromians and Eritreans is that Eritreans refused to marry Amhara woment and Oromos married to to Amhara women and sons and daughters of Amhara women are now creating problem to Oromos. Example: Ermiyas Legesse Wakjira and the SimAytere. Eritreans also didn't allow the colonialists to settle on their land and among their people.

Ze-IlmaSare,
Buayalew and Tantu are both insane. Their difference is simply being from north and south. This dog is better than both.
