What good do journalists do for the well being of the public?

Post by simbe11 » 16 Aug 2019, 14:56

We have seen numerous journalists publishing their works and reports as well as analysis of situations from all over the globe. This trend is getting large and large as time passes. But what good do the general public get out of it?
If we go a little back in time and see the world, it looked more like what we see today. Albeit a little more better to live in. Journalistic works and cross border reports, usually one sided propaganda, swarming the AM and FM radio frequencies are increasing in numbers. In recent times, this trend is going to the newer technology that enabled transmitting information cheap, reliable, swift and unchecked. These, usually fake under the skirt of free press and free speech laws, propaganda are transmitted from afar where the transmitter is not in immediate physical danger. Only the intended recipients of the propaganda would face the consequences.

So, what good do journalist do for the well being of the general public?
