The woman in my opinion was not fit to interview this professor.
She seems to be interested in the fluffy stuff; asking questions that are appropriate mainly to entertainers not scholars.
Your title was also misleading because the guy didn't explain the details; was there a history department with a budget to include him or not? That is missing; the woman wasn't interested to pursue and ask. She did a disservice on that. Notice, he talked about the present dominant ethnic groups. Warned them that it is NOT just Oromo history that matters, it the history of all.
He praised Menelik for recreating Ethiopian state as we know it today. How about that? Or was Menelik non-Habasha to you these days?
Was it because he is another Menelik "Safari"?
Prof. Lapiso is a candid man! Not necessarliy too attatched to his extended family/Gosa as such; that is admirable to me.
