Well the same way the Arab league. Didn’t stop Iran from fighting Iraq during. Their war in the 1980s. Or perhaps they did help but it had no real affect on Iran
Besides let’s say there were no military bases in Djibouti or what ever. Or even the french security forces . Who have only a handful troops there . Do you really think the Ethiopian forces cannot fight a handful French troops they could but there might be more to it first because the french have some sort of deal with Ethiopia and promised them create a navy . So in a sense Ethiopia will not attack Djibouti . But let’s be devils advocate. Suppose They weren’t french. Or European or no one else and it was just us our issa nomads there in Djibouti and we had no allies in the region or even u overplaying Arab support . We don’t rely on Arabs . Your forgetting one thing. Apart from our diplomatic stature and military cooperation with super powers . Something you could do to instead of acting as spoiler and opposing the establishment I mean the west and at the same time dealing with their junior partners the uae and the Saudis. Though the latter is a bricks country how ever they still are an American ally . You could have done this to to protect your nation. But what I wanted to say in fact is that we Djiboutians are Somalis and we know gallas habeshas for centuries we fought many wars they wouldn’t dare to attack us even if there were just few unarmed Issa fishermen in Djibouti . They know we are deep inside Ethiopia we could block their entire life line we would block entire rail road in shinile .. besides the Somali kilil wouldn’t assist with such an aggression it would be a war between Somalis and gallas . Then you have somalia they might not even send troops but individual soldiers would come . So we are not relying on Arabs or french or Americans. Had they not been there we have 30
Million people beside us and there is no galla that can touch us . If Ethiopia couldn’t hold Mogadishu for six months what makes you think they can occupy Djibouti more then 6 months they can never hold it and back then there was not even a Somali kilil in play things have changed but the Somali people haven’t
