Defend,
I don't know if you've looked at it but, in the following quote from AddisStandard news, Jawar has filed all the documents necessary. Including
"letter stated that a certificate of loss of his US nationality given to him by the US embassy in Addis Abeba on January 06/2020 was attached along with other documents".
Like I said before I am not a legal expert on the issue here or any other legal issues for that matter. But the sentences in the application seems to me to have purportedly written by Jaanjoo Mohammad more probably very fraudulent to me. I am saying this not because I have something against someone getting his/her citizenship back but above all matters the rule of law matters, in my school of thought.
I think both naturalisation and denaturalisation are processes not just events by themselves. It is not something like you appear at certain public office and say: "here is your passport take it away from me and give me a confirmation letter of your taking back my citizenship status", which would have been a funny thing.
You apply and that application has to go through a lengthy approval procedure of different authorities and I am not sure about what he meant about a one day event at the American Embassy in Addis. Was the process started or ended on the date? it is not clear to me here.
"የአሜርካ ዜግነቴንም በታህሳስ 27 ቀን 2012 ዓም (January 6, 2020) በመተው ቁጥር 530745298 የሆነውን የኣሜርካ ፓስፖርቱን አድስ አበባ ለምገኛው በኢትዮጵያ የኣሜርካን ኤምባሲ መልሻለሁ።"
In a place where I live the process of naturalization may take something from 6 months well over a year or more. It has to be concretized what has actually happend on the 27 of Tahesas, 2012 and Addis Standard could have written that part in a more clear words in its reporting, I think. Is there something to hide, for what purpose? We have already many different things keeping us busy, unable to resolve easily and no need to add one more source of contention here.
