UPDATE on coronavirus (COVID19) testing in the UK:

As of 9am 2 April, a total of 163,194 people have been tested of which 33,718 tested positive.

As of 5pm on 1 April, of those hospitalised in the UK who tested positive for coronavirus, 2,921 have sadly died.

Saudi Arabia imposed a 24-hour curfew in Mecca and Medina on Thursday, the interior ministry said, extending measures taken to combat the spread of the coronavirus, which has infected more than 1,700 people and killed 16.The interior ministry said in a statement there were some exceptions, including for essential workers and in order for residents to buy food and access medical care. The curfew had previously been from 1500 to 0600.

Health Ministry projections seen by POLITICO outline a worst-case scenario for Ethiopia predicting that 28 million people are at risk of contracting the virus. Health officials are now working on the assumption that in a worst-case scenario Ethiopia could already be an incubator for a “super-spreading event” and that the health system will be “overwhelmed in a few weeks.” A shortage of medical oxygen supplies is one major concern.

As part of the fight against COVID19 the Holy Synod of Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahdo Church (EOTC) announced that as of tomorrow followers of the Church, the largest in Ethiopia, should pray from home & only a limited No. of priests should conduct prayers inside churches The Holy Synod also decided that all premises of spiritual colleges, Sunday schools & other facilities under EOTC should be designated to serve as isolation centers for COVID19 suspected patients in the event of the possible spread. EOTC also donated 3m br to contain the virus.
