Dama what do you mean by "illegal settlements"? Ethiopians have been settled & resettled individually or by the push of governments to different regions through out history. No body can stop movement of people & their right has to be respected wherever they are. Western Tigray is a Tigrayan land that is fool stop! I know PP wants the issue to be unresolved for their political game but Tigrayans will give it a full stop.I hope no reasonable Amhara will continue to bother about Western Tigray while hundreds of thousands of Amharas have been displaced from Welega at gun point & perishing in under served/ neglected shelters and while Abiy is killing Amharas on daily based using drones & killing squads. የአማራ ህዝብ የህልውና ችግር የገጠመው ስለሆነ ወልቋይት ፀገዴና ትግሬ ገዳይ እያለ የሚሸልለው ጥቂት የፒፒ ጎንደሬ ብቻ ነው! በዚሁ አበቃሁ!

Not just "illegal settlers" in Welkait/Humera of Amara, they were settled there at gunpoints to the indigenous Amara. This is a serious crime. No less a crime than who breaks into your house and claims it as his own. Such a thief should not have the right of say on what you want to do with your house.
First the TPLF took control of Welkait/Humera from the Ethiopian gov. Then, it accelerated bringing Tigrey individuals and families to settle them in Welkait/Humera. If not for TPLF's power from the intimidating barrel of the gun, the Tigrey settlers would not have been granted lands in Welkait/Humera. This illegal occupation vacates their rights to vote in a referendum regarding the land they occupied illegally.

Do not waste your time with him. Axumezana is frozen in the Woyane era; that train has already left. His feet will never touch the soil of Welqait or Humera until he says goodbye to this world. He knew the crime he committed before crossing the Tekeze River — unless he intended to face justice in the public square of Humera/Welqait.
A note: anyone known to have roots or land in Humera and Welqait does not need political officials to return — they already returned. It doesn’t matter whether they speak Amharic, Tigrigna, Arabic, or another language. A citizen who is free of criminal acts is free to live anywhere without aid or military escort. Do you imagine a legal resident who truly belongs to that community staying away for three years? No — people return on their own volition if they really belong. Axumezana and his ilk talk about resettling Adowa, Shire, Axum, etc., and about Tigreans taking over Amhara land.
They are not even talking about one sovereign country, and internal administrative boundary. They are talking stealing away Ethiopian territory and break away. They think they are the only smart ones.

ዓይጠ መጎጡ እንደ ጭልፊቱ ወላዋይ ነው። ምናልባትም አንድ ሊሆኑ ይችላሉ። በየቦታው ብቅ ጥልቅ እያሉ አቋማቸውን በየጊዜው ቢለዋውጡም፣ ለአማራ ያላቸውን ጥላቻ ግን መቼም ለውጠውት አያውቁም። በተለይም ጎጃምን ሁለቱም በተከታታይ ሲያጠቁ ይታያሉ።
