A war between Ethiopia and Djibouti could draw France and all other stakeholders into the conflict. International mediators will hold talks with the UAE to end the conflict.

The UAE, still nursing a grudge against Djibouti for terminating its 30-year port operations contract back in 2018, would love to bomb Djibouti back to the stone age, but the presence of multiple global powers in Djibouti serving as a deterrence has made the UAE to think twice and instead use Ethiopia to do is dirty work to the detriment of the landlocked nation risking its only access to the sea.
A Banda working against own country's best interest is not a new phenomena in Ethiopia that has had its fair share of mercenaries that have kept the country impoverished, backward and on the verge of fragmentation.
