Also consider Getting cargo planes jointly with the other landlocked country,south Sudan.
Djibouti is safe and investing in improving the existing logistics makes more sense than wasting time with poor,unstable and at times hostile neighbors.

A nation of 130 million people the 5th largest economy is the continent of Africa remaing dependent of a fake 1 million people city state serving the 10 super power to collect rent, a fake city state which Houthis can disrupt with a single missile is advising our great mother Ethiopia to commit suicide. No, Djibouti can become a province of Ethiopia if she want to be the commercial and Navy base of Ethiopia - a nation that will soon be the 2nd, 3rd, or even the 1st largest economy of Africa when she hits 250 million people before 2050, that is in our life time!!!!

5 years from today while all of us here in ER would be arguing, Ethiopia Airlines will be serving 100 million travelers per year with a Boeing Hq factories in Ethiopia. Soon Ethiopia will be selling electric power all the way to Tanzania and farther ...

You don't think Abiy knows that? But just look around the amount barriers and the number of enemies Ethiopia is experiencing! But believe me the MOU will go through. Turkey is pushing Ethiopia to side with Palestine against Israel and US. I may be wrong this pressure might bring US into the game against Turkey. It is Turkey that needs to be told stay in its own lane.

Somaliland doesn't give a shiitttt of turkey or Egypt. But abiy is probably indebted to them , they provided some lethal weapons against the rebels against him. Ethiopia doesn't have the luxury to say fu to everybody - US, UN, EU, African Union, & local forces. Consider this: Egypt is a known historical enemy of Ethiopia due to Nile river. Turkey wants to control the whole of Somalia including Somaliland and that is why she is trying to bully Ethiopia. So, both of us (ethio &SLR) must devise a strategy to keep Turkey inside Somalia South. I Qatar is - against MOU but I don't what know UAE is doing? UAE is very tricky - they have huge deals with Egypt and they are also now in good relations with Turkey. So, Abiy is sandwiched between all these forces (US, EU, AU, Arab league, Egypt, Turkey, Qatar, even UAE)then you these little guys like Eritrea, Djibouti ... most of these forces simply don't want to see a stronger Ethiopia because they want to control the red sea and control its resources. But believe me Ethiopia has been in this kind of struggle all her life and we will defeat them this time too.
