A minor fight for a state minister position (minister d'eta) at the spokesperson office, which Ermias lost, was upgraded by Ermias into a major conflict between Ethiopia's two pillar nations.

Look, I wish only peace for Ethiopia.
1. It's human
2. As a neighboring country, it can affect my country too in the long run.
Now, I wouldn't mind the tplf much, had they not been supported and still being supported by Western countries. Had they not interfered to save it, we wouldn't have this discussion today. I don't think you've missed the fact, they want Welqait & other areas for themselves. With the pressure placed on Abyi by the US & the institutions it controls (IMF, World Bank etc.) the fear of the Amara is understandable to me.

I am not sure if TPLF is indeed still allowed to be armed and just roam around, you might have more information with this regard, please share in that case.
Even if TPLF is still armed the entity is no more an imminent threat to the peace and security of the nation, while Fano and co. have openly expressed their ambition to remove the government in power by means of violence, TPLF didn't since it was defeated. The threat comes from the Amhara region currently, not Tigray.
In such cases the government has the full right to tackle the problem in accordance to their respective urgency. Do you have any argument against that?
When TPLF was a threat, we marched to disarm it, in collaboration with the rest in the country, when the Amhara Fano becomes the next threat, then we have to march towards the same and get it disarmed, in collaboration with all in the country, including the TPLF itself. The threat is for all of us. የአገር ህልዉና ጉዳይ ነዉ።
Do you see anywhere a double standard in my position here? On the other hand those who were so vocal in their opposition to Daud Ibsa's claim now turned back and simply said, yes, we should be allowed to be armed and roam around like the govenment proper. We are special, as usual, they claimed.
And you try to justify this blatant violation of the rule of the law of a sovereign country. I didn't expect you to get that low.

Walelign was from a well to do family who was brainwashed as he compared his life with ordinary people. Unfortunately, he was misguided to the point that he forgot the underserved society of the Amhara population. He has focussed on the elites without due consideration of the ordinary population. ሰው ሲጠግብ እና እሚሰራው ሲያጣ የሚያደርገውን አይነት ስለሆነ ነው እንጅ ኦሮሞ ከሌላው በተለየ ተበድሎ አያውቅም፣፣ As to Habtamu, at least he is the man of my life time which I can see what is real or not. He gas been exposing the regime to the core and with issues that are open to the public or issues that would be confirmed at a later time. His style might not be OK to everyone and at tines he can redicule his subjects based on the information he gets. But in short, Habtamu is not and will not be the driver of the Amhara resistance and drive to fight back. The situation and the facts on the ground are. Habtamu and other media people are using the opportunity to sharpen their attack on the regime. That's it.
justo wrote: ↑14 Aug 2023, 10:41So Walelegn was wrong in claiming Amara were oppressing Oromo, but Habtamu is right in claiming Oromo are oppressing Amara?kibramlak wrote: ↑14 Aug 2023, 09:08
#1. Whether Habtamu et al said something else or not, the reality on the ground-the teregna reality is already there. What Habtamu et al did was what they are supposed to do - share information to the public. Mind also Habtamu et al are the ones who are pushed by the Abiy regime as he did with thousands of others. Even the top man next to Abiy - Birhanu Jula - has admitted and accepted the fact that it is right to be teregna and it is now for the oromos turn.
BTW, are the Oromo only oppressing Amara, or are they also oppressing the Afars and Somalis? Just so that I get the whole picture

Let me finish this discussion by saying one thing here. You raised the validity of Amhara forces to be allowed to arm themselves and roam around, along side the national security apparatus. I tried to refute that by showing the logical meanings of such an attempt and its fallacy.
Now you jump to a body which is neither under the control of the Ethiopian government nor any other for that matter for the issue here, for a demostic issue that directly affect Ethiopia.
In my little understanding the government of Ethiopia can't discipline those international or third party bodies, it should get those under its own jurisdiction under control, like any other government of the world under such circumstances.
We can't hide behind the decisions or policies of a third party to blatantly violate the law in our own respective countries.
If you think the "fear of the Amhara is understandble", then I just wonder why you failed to question the validity or reasonability of the intransigence of your own leader for the whole of his life, never make a dent of a compromise, and make peace and security in the region viable, for the sake of the benefit of the whole all along?
That would have been the easier way to question in my view instead of trying to dictate the terms of how the bodies you mentioned should handle their businesses. May be they were invited to act like they do by the acts and behaviours such as the intransigence of Isayas Afwerki.
If you wish to solve problems, then first look at your own self in the mirror and try to come up clean, the best way to go forward.

Brother Justo,
The weyanes claiming Badme is ridiculous. International court had ruled Badme, Eritrean years ago. Tigray is not a country, hence it can not claim territories out against another state. That is the job of central government. The weyanes are out. No worries. You know Badme was used as an excuse for a long time. I would not be surprised if it continues to be so. Border disagreements do not usually result in terrible wars around the World. Badme was an excuse. The weyanes are out of central government, not what is the excuse for the Agame boogie man ? Weyane leaders are not savvy. It cost terrible human loss and suffering to their people. I hope they learn better this time around. They were used as an excuse to hold the Eritrean people’s suffering to continue for a long time. It is all about power not the interest of the Eritrean people. Anyway, the Agame is done. Now, what is the excuse ?

Funny how the internal Ethiopian issue gets discussed by justo the HGDEFite and pro FANO kibramlak yet the two never discuss the internal Eritrean issue. What does that tell us?
I don’t see kibramlak bring up Eritrean opposition media and activists. I see justo bringing up the Ethiopian opposition media and trash them. What does that tell us?

listen and learn from the horse’s mouth who was the chief of amhara special force
Instead of saying from the horse's mouth you should have said from the horse's wrestling show business. He may be a gang leader in countries like Haiti but not in Ethiopia.
Some of the Amhara extremist politicians have always demanded the dismantling of regional militias and paramilitary forces so that they may get integrated them to the federal military and police forces. When such activities failed to be automatic they kept blaming the PM day and night for not being able to control the divided regional forces attached mainly to their own regional identity.
And now when all the militias and paramilitary forces of all the Ethiopian regions were reeducated and integrated in to the federal armed forces and federal police forces the same double tongued dishonest Amhara extremists turned 360 degrees and blaming the PM for trying to integrate the Amhara militia and paramilitary forces closely attached and identified to the Amhara ethnicity and need to have to have special treatment over and and above all the Ethiopian regions.
Now if the government is not firm these paranoid guys may take our country hostage and convert the country in to the Haiti type of utterly hopeless gangland where mothers, fathers, children, men and women may easily lose their lives and livings as the country is taken hostage by gang groups..
