We are discussing the Oromuma ideology, which is marked by discrimination and hostility towards other Ethiopians. This ideology is being propagated by figures such as Shimeles and Abiy, as well as extremist followers of the Oromuma ideology, leading to turmoil in the country. It's important to clarify that our criticism is directed at the ideology itself, not the Oromo people as a whole.
A parallel can be drawn to the historical concept of the Aryan nations. Initially, the term "Aryan" was used to describe the "Indo-European" or "Indo-Germanic" identity. However, the Aryan ideology took a divisive turn, elevating the so-called Aryan nations while targeting groups like Jews and other nationalities as enemies to be eliminated for the Aryan nations' advancement.
It's crucial not to conflate the Oromuma ideology with the Oromo people. Those who equate the two either lack understanding or are being insincere. Shimeles has been involved in training Oromia special forces for the past five years, with the backing of Abiy. Unfortunately, these special forces have been utilized to suppress any perceived threats to Abiy's authority, including Oromo individuals. Additionally, groups like the so-called shenes were heavily armed by Abiy.
Following the conflict with the Weyane forces, Abiy chose to disarm the Amharas due to viewing them as opponents. To dismantle the Amhara special forces and Fano, he formulated a plan to integrate Oromo forces into the Ethiopian defense forces. It was only then that he initiated hostilities against the Amharas.
