Why don't you talk about his ideology rather than profiling his ethnicity?

Brother Horus.

Ermais legesse often mentions that he is a "half-cast" father being Oromo and mother being Amhara. His surname that says Legesse WaqJira suggests that his grand parent WaqJira is afan Oromo which means (God is Present. Waq = God and Jirra = Present).

In one of the latest interview Ermias made with an agame women Ermias discribed that his father's family sing in Afan-Oromo but dance in Guragigna. I may have seen videos in YouTube on these people who sing in afan-oromo but dance guragigna.

Therefore, i suspect Ermias family from his father side are Gebaro Gurages who were forced to be Oromos. Any scholarly thought on this subject?
Misraq,

A couple of points here.

First, isn't there a clear distinction between Waqa and God, especially for Afan Oromo speakers who can say Waqa, Gofta, and God?

Second, with all due respect to our Guraghigna speaking community of Ethiopia, what does Gebaro Guraghe mean?

Horus, if I am not mistaken, the 12th and 13th centuries are in the era of active debates in Shawa about restoring Solomonic dynasty and expanding Orthodox Christianity. Correct? Arguably, the debate of that era has a big place in the history of Ethiopia. Do you know if the difference among the parties to that great debate was doctrinal or divisions in the various ጎሳዎች that lived in the area in that era?

Abere,

You are the third person I am reading about making the same point when you write: ዘር የሚባል በኢትዮጵያ ውስጥ የለም። I remember asking about what የሰዉ ዘር means and if the English word race and ጎሳ have any similarities at all. We definitely have various የሰዉ ዘር ጎሳዎች, similar to የእህል ዘር ጎሳዎች።

The first one is what I heard during my childhood age: ዱር ነምን ጋፈ አስ ገድ ዹፌ ናኖን ኩን ቦሶነ ቱሬ። It roughly means ድሮ ሰዉ ወደ እዚህ ታች የመጣ ጊዜ አከባቢዉ ዱር ነበረ። ነመ means ሰዉ or person. I am not sure if the English word name is related to ነመ። Here is the history of its origin from online dictionary (dictionary.com:) name (English,) nama (Middle English, Old English,) namô (Gothic,) nōmen (Latin,) ónoma (Greek,) and so on.

The second one was an unwitting response by Dr. Gemechu Megersa when he was asked a question. I watched it online. He looked unprepared for the question and quickly responded ነመ ጄዹ። ሰዉ ነዉ ይላሉ እንደማለት ነዉ።

Well, who was it that said የፍጥረት በር ነሽ፣ የሰዉ ዘር መገኛ፣ ዞሮ መጀመርያ? He also clearly said የሰዉ ዘር።

Educator and Horus,

I have nothing against Ermias. I actually admire his dedication and explanation. He looks things at a higher level and makes a very good analysis. My only issue with Ermias is that sometimes he doesn't stand on his ground and budges in for TPLF narsassists such as Tewdros blindy and this b!tch on the video below. A good example is that he tried to appease this stinky agame b!tch by saying Welkait should be for both. This shows weakness in character

Because those who are intellectually challenged, or not smart, cannot do that.
They resort to what they do best: insults, ethnic slurs, etc, as opposed to criticizing an idea, an ideology, an action, etc.
Miss rock is too blinded by her hatred of the Oromo's to ever be fair, let's be honest here. She has this deep-seated fear and hatred of anything Oromo.
