Addis. Left the country at a very early age. never heard of the word. Is it a geez or Tigrigna. What does that mean? Also, before there was a word I came across you used “zegenie”. Both words are not Amharic. Geez or Tigrigna?

OK, never mind. Explained to me, KEYE is a geez word mainly used by orthodox believers and it means surrounding. I was told it is not mainly used by everyday Amharic speakers rather in literature.

Neamin Zeleke and Co. are the only "Ethiopianists" who claim Isaias Afwerki loves Ethiopia. The rest of us don't buy it. A leader who loves Ethiopia wouldn't be hosting alphabetical soup of tribal separatist forces in his country. There is no question, though, Isaias Afwerki loves his country. He puts the interest of his country and his own legacy ahead of everything else. But the issue here is not Isaias Afwerki. It is the woyane constitution, its function and successive leaders since Meles Satnawi to maintain it knowing full well its negative impact on Ethiopia and its citizens. Since 1991 Ethiopia was condemned to be ruled by myopic, unpatriotic and tribalist leaders. The current one is in addition a con artist.

What people don’t know is that Neamin and co are making a living out of Ethiopian politics.
Issias is the root cause of all the troubles in Ethiopia.
They divide the Afar brothers to landlock Ethiopia and they will do anything to stop Ethiopia and Afar asking the legit questions. It is a matter of time before the absolute truth addressed.

Agames' Isaias phobia is well known. It's understandable too.

Even the woyanus sympathizer, Elias Kifle, couldn't help but notice

What is the Woyanne obsession with Isaias Afwerki?
Post by elias » 08 Nov 2012, 13:44
Can any one explain to me why the Woyannes and its supporters are so obsessed with Isaias Afwerki? They invoke his name in every conversation on any issue, be it sport, business, technology, American politics, Ethiopian politics... you name it. And the obsession seems to have grown after the death of their khat-addicted boss.
I went to Eritrea 3 years ago and interviewed Isaias, and also asked him to help Ethiopian freedom fighters. For providing shelters to Ethiopians, I named him 'person of the year.' Three years later, it is still eating them. If it bothers them this much I think I should do it again this year.

Something doesn’t add up with your history. አማርኛ ተናጋሪ ሆኖ “ቀዬ” የሚለውን ቃል የማያውቅ አጋጥሞኝ አያውቅም። “ዝግኒህን እቤት በልተህ እየመጣህ እኔ ሬስቶራንት ውስጥ አንዲት ድራፍት ይዘህ ወንበር አታሙቅ” ሲባል አለመስማትህም ደንቆኛል።

Glad we will be able to talk something other than politics. My generation use words like Akababi and gora as in camp. It is the older generation of the Amaharas and orthodox scholars as in Amharic literature utilized this geez word.
All these words like “Makebo, Endemta,Tadami etc” are all geez blended into Amharic.
The beauty of Amharic is it’s rich vocabulary taken from several other languages. I didn’t know cini as in coffee cup was Arabic blended into Amharic. Tigrigna, Guragenga and Arabic have contributed to the evolution of Amharic.

That’s the beauty of a language. Old phrases can be reincarnated & embellished to spice up modern literature.
የትኛው ቋንቋ እንደሚቀድም ለባለሙያዎቹ እተዋለሁ። “መኪና” “ሀኪም” ና “ሸ-ርሙጣ” መጤ ናቸው እንበል፣ ግን “እሾክ” “ባቄላ” “ምስኪን” etc ከአረብኛ መጡ የሚልን ሰው ማስረጃ ካላሳየኝ በፍፁም አላምነውም።

Well done!!!
You only forget that he, himself, is the leader of ethnic based group. Namely EPLF!!
eden wrote: ↑19 Feb 2023, 15:04
Reality check:
Isayas supported ethnic based groups like TPLF, OLF, ONLF, GPLF, TPDM, SLF. etc etc. All these are ethnic based organizations Isayas supported. He never supported Esepa, Knijit, Hibret or Medrek. . These are organizations that attempted to transcend ethnicity. The only reasonable conclusion here is he says one thing but does another.
HGDEF uses one Ethiopian group against another.
worked with TPLF against DERG
worked with OLF, ONLF against TPLF
worked with OPDO against TPLF
working with you - ANDM/ FANO - against OPDO
(will work with TPDM against ANDM/ FANO)
This is the record of Isayas. Follow what he does, not what he says.
It's funny it's the Eritrean that has to spell this out to you Ethiopians
