Stop generalizing about Eritreans. The Eritrean leadership under the absolute power in one man strategies, especially wars have been waged here and there. The Eritrean people are denied any input through some kind congress or parliament to decide whether Eritrea wages war or not. Propaganda is the only means the leadership communicates with the Eritrean people. Both Amharas and Tigrayans are our own kind. Off course, the amharas never have accepted Eritrean independence. It has to do with port access. In the future whether we like it or not, we have to respect each other sovereignty and deal commerce and business accordingly. In my view, Ethiopia in general will go through terrible civil war. Neither Amhara nor Oromo forces will give in. The question is, will the southerners and the Somali’s take one side over the other ? Tigrayans would be fools of the century to take either side. Somehow, if peace prevails, the more the merrier. Eritrea should never take any side. If it does, regime change will be on the table. Enough is enough.

Abiy Ahmed’s Nekemte Speech Sparks Concerns of Escalating Tensions

A report by al-ain quoted him as saying “Oromo people were denied its identity over one century, were made to not use its language, were denied ownership of the country and considered as a second class citizen. Now the ‘Oromo is liberated’ with a sacrifice that was paid. The people need to understand this.” It is common for Shimeles Abdissa, president of the Oromia region, to make speeches like that in public in the Oromo language. Abiy Ahmed has been painting himself as one a politician free from ethnic parochialism. His remarks at Nekemte Stadium rather seem to suggest that he subscribes to radical narratives that Shimeles Abdissa has been saying in public.

Abiy Ahmed went further, based on al-ain report, to paint an image of an enemy against which ethnic Oromo must unite. “Let us end being deceived by the enemy and being divided on the enemy’s agenda,” he is quoted as saying..

Drone attack targeting a school in Yifat Qewot district claimed three civilian lives

The Ethiopian government forces have reportedly killed civilians in the latest drone attack conducted in Shoa, Amhara region of Ethiopia.

In a report aired on Monday, Ethiopian Media Services (EMS) spoke to sources from the area. According to eyewitnesses, the drone strike took place on Sunday in Qewot district of Yifat, Yellen Kebelle. The target was Gulo school. It was said to be a one-time strike this time; it happened around 1:30 p.m. local time.

Sintayehu Mohammed Bihonegne, PR of Fano forces operating in the area, spoke to EMS. He confirmed that civilians were killed. Three peasants who were near the area were reportedly killed as the school is said to be located on the roadside and a teacher (a female) who works at the school was severely wounded. It was unspecified if her condition is life-threatening. The source indicated that teachers live within the school premises.

He added that the drone attack was a demonstration that the government was unable to defeat Fano forces in an infantry battle.
