In various schools in Uganda, and some other parts of Africa, children as young as five are punished for speaking African languages, indigenous languages and mother tongues at school. The modes of punishment differ. The most common one in Uganda is wearing a dirty sack until you meet someone else speaking their mother tongue and then you pass the sack on to them. In some schools, there are specific pupils and students tasked with compiling lists of fellow pupils and students speaking mother tongues. This list is then handed over to a teacher responsible for punishing these language rule-breakers. According to Gilbert Kaburu, some schools have aprons that read: “Shame on me, I was speaking vernacular” handed over to an offender of the No Vernacular rule, who then is tasked with finding the next culprit to give the apron. Most of the punishments, in their symbolism emphasise the uselessness of the African languages.

If they were thinking as Ethiopians, they would have encouraged others to learn their language systematically by using and improving the existing geez/amharic alphabets. As you said, the geez alphabet uses sounds of ጠ፣ቀ፣ጰ፣ጸ፣ጨ፣ኘ፣....for which the Latin doesnt have. Even if there are still missing sounds, the geez alphabet can be improved such as by adding accents like in French (accent grave like è, accent egui like é, tréma like ü or like û or ū on top of vowels or consonants of the geez alphabets. This improvements can be made at vey low cost without needing to make further research. For instance, in their qube, they use double consonants to tighten, like rr nn kk, ...all this can be used with geez/amharic by adding accents or tremas on top. I think, this is also valid for improving amharic usage. For instance, በላ (eat) is written same way as በላ (say it). So, by using accent for በ in በላ (eat), people can easily read it.

So, the latinized oromos didnt seem flow any logic both for facilitating their own usage and for letting others to learn. As everyone knows, those who read and write in amharic can at least read any language written in Amharic. This means, the oromos could be able to attract others half way. Then it will be a matter of learning the meanings. That way, we keep the unique cultural asset of the country while improving multilingual communications without even forcing people to learn one language over the others. The dynamics (market or socio cultural) and the attitudes (I mean positive ones) of those who wanted their language heard big will do the miracle. What the neo wannabe galls juntas doing right now is something beyond logic and is based on pure hatrates and dneyal of the country itself. Maybe they wanted to be the negr@ feregjis lol

To find a sensible so called Amhara on this net is like expecting a mule to give birth. First for someone to be Ethiopian, there should be Ethiopia. Even if you people are allergic to facts you should know the name Ethiopia is in official use only after the formation of the league of nations, current UN, at the end of the world war 2. before that the official name is Abyssinia. If you look for old news of the 2nd Italian invasion, it was said Italy invaded Abyssinia, not Ethiopia.
So ጋላወች existed well before your Ethiopia proper. By the way the use of Latin is based on science not on Tinkola or metet from your debteras. Live with it! there is nothing you can do about it other than whining day and night as you people did for the last 30 plus years.
Instead what about you focusing on your genocide count. Lately there was a rumor that anything dead is counted as Amhara just to get the number of death as high as possible. There was even a goat hit by passing by car being counted as Amhara killed by unknown (UFOS). If anyone, it is you people who never change, consumed with hate for others and everything has to be about Amhara.
My hope is that one day you people will start to think reasonably and try to understand what others are going through by putting yourself in their shoes. Then you will start to respect others and get back the equivalent. Until then you will remain the evils of Ethiopia as you have been for centuries.
