Eritrean nationals residing inside the country and abroad are extending financial and material contribution to the effort to fight corona virus pandemic.

According to the Ministry of Health, nationals in Canada contributed 208,000 Canadian Dollars, 19 merchants in Assab and its environs 285,000 Nakfa, nationals in the port city of Assab 89,130 Nakfa, traders in Adi-Keih town 221,000 Nakfa, and ‘Selam’ mini-bus owners association in Anseba region 40,000 Nakfa.

Likewise, Gerbet bus owners’ association in Anseba region contributed 5,000 Nakfa, Public technical service in the Anseba region 20,000 Nakfa, Al-Kedir Salt Plant 3,000 Nakfa, 10 residents in Foro 26,000 Nakfa and Bige Milk Product extended material support.

In related news, staff members of the Ministry of Finance contributed 250,000 Nakfa, Leather and Hide Products association 50,000 Nakfa, women returnees from Italy 50,000 Nakfa, family of the late Araya Sebhatu 50,000 Nakfa, Cooperative Association of the Office of the President 50,000 Nakfa, vegetables and fruits retailers in Merkato 108,500 Nakfa, Union Agriculture 15,000 Nakfa, Medical Cooperative Association of Anberbeb Team 10,000 Nakfa, nationals returnees from North America 40,000 Nakfa, Tessenei Administration 160,000 Nakfa, Association of Tourism Service Provision Institutions in Mendefera 15,000 Nakfa.

The association of PFDJ staff members contributed 50,000 Nakfa, while the Association of Motor-Bikers 10,000 Nakfa, and Dahlak Share Company extended material support worth 114,610 Nakfa.

19 owners of Social Service Provision Institutions in Adi-Keih town also contributed 132,000 Nakfa and Abune Kerlos, Archbishop of Adi-Keih, 5,555 Nakfa.

I used to be zombie like you in late 90s and then around 2003/04 i snapped out of it after assessing all the lies against eritrea(ns) and more importantly after seeing so many quiet eritreans helping their nation without fanfare & without wasting time in political infighting.

Instead they just focused on helping in practical ways (sending books, computers, needed/shortage supplies, fundraising money, adopting eritrean kids, taking hiatus from work to contribute their educational/technical knowledge, the list was/is endless).

Then i started asking myself what had i really done for my nation by obsessing about an individual, where were fruits of my efforts outside of politics/conjecture, what had i done even for myself/family...how did those before me pass such situations/obsessions...then realized the obvious that they met their objectives by agreeing to work for the greater communal good despite individual spoilers or divisive ideas/agendas. Even when i evaluate myself/contributions today, its not even a drop compared to my family/predecessors or other eritreans.

Now i am not fully cured since i am obsessed with woyanu & on complete opposite end of you, i will always work to make them pay...kind of reminds me of when Saleh (Gadi) Johar had pledged vengeance against shabia with help of woyanu. Speaking of which, one of the brilliant doctors of Mereja had diagnosed you woyanu+sympathizers of having ADD/OCD...i have learned from woyanu and am waiting quietly/patiently for day to pay them their due.
