While starting with a low-paying job isn’t limited to Ethiopians, they are the only ones that hardly change and achieve an upward mobility. If you think about it, a hardworking Ethiopian in Addis has a better chance of rising economically compared to a college graduate who split his time between a gas station and parking lot in DC.
