Geza Semati = Tigrigna
Bete Semati = Amharic

Also ግቢ is Amharic folks. All historical, Royal and archeological evidences suggest the Royal cliques ruling axum were proto-amharas. The fact they moved to Hayq when Yodit chased them and then to Shoa is evident that they continued un-interrupted lineage of ruling class
geza is private house in Tigrigna
But we also say bet tmhrti (school), bet frdi (Court of Law)
In Amharic
Bet means private house
tmhrt bet school and frd bet (Court of Law)

Some small differences but important to find the origin of Tigrayans and Amharas.
Tigrigna is Semetic ( Hebrew and Arabic together), of course it developed from Geez
Beta semati is Tigrigna The Amhara miss the guttral pronounciation. They have no control of their voices or pronounciation

Re: Archeologists unearth lost town which is the origins Bete Amhara

There is no single village that speaks Amharic as a mother tongue in Tigray. But in Bahr Dar and Gondar, the people speak Tigrigna words when they sing traditional songs like during Epiphany. Difficult to say whether Amhara have founded Aksumite Civilisation. We have to wait for evidence. I think ever tribe in Ethiopia has their share in creating this outstandng civilisation

There is also a theory that Amhara are Tigrayans who migrated from Aksum to South Ethiopia after the down fall of Aksum.
