Protesting and Leading are from two different worlds

Post by DefendTheTruth » 27 Dec 2019, 14:38

Our so called "opposition" camp was considered true heroes by its supporters just by presenting itself as somebody which is opposing the incumbent, in the abscence of any democratic exercise in the political space in the country. It was acting literally in a green field.

Now the government told the same body "here is the horse and here is the field, and it is up to you to show your supporter what you have got in store for them".

Then came one of the party of the same opposition and claimed: "I am going to chase away the incumbent and take over its place" at the next election.

But how are you going to make that happen, it was asked back. Have you got any alternative idea, an alternative program to nurture to the need of the people (of your own supporters)?

"No, we don't have anything in that sense, we simply want to make our own government, that is all".

The questioner replied: thank you for insulting our intelligence, and good lack (not good luck).

The other one came in and claimed that it is the best of the breed and touted about its ability to literally do anything and chase away the incumbent from power at any time it wishes. It said my party has trained our youth and they are ready to do anything. We can even coerce the government into releasing our suspected criminals before they get to the trial stage by an independent court, it claimed. That same youth went home and started burning down mosques and as if that is not enough gathered itself at the scene of burning religious institution and started to do what it can best: sing its song, until the ground beneath get shakens.

That singing until the earth beneath gets shaken has now back-fired and the earth beneath the country itslef is shaken by a massive and country-wide protests that the burning of the mosques has caused.

If you want to oppose the government, then it is your right to do so, but trying to do so without taking care of your own responsibility will backfire on your self . you should have known that before claiming to yourself a title of opposing the incumbent. An opposition can only be an opposition if it has also get a truly alternative means than what the incumbent itself can offer. If you miss this point then you must be a doll, not a serious political alternative ready to overtake the responsibility of leading a great nation called Ethiopia.

You have been singing for the last 30 or so years. And you are still at it, when are you going to stop singing and start delivering what you think you can offer?

It seems that even the senior Oromo singers have now started to finally recognize how inept you are and started to ignore you, that is why this collection of young and inexperienced singers have filled the place.

Tokkummaa, tokkummaa yaa ilmaan Oromoo tokkummaa... for the last 30 years.

Okay tokkummaa is good, but the next question is on what basis?

While you were singing the same song for the last 30 years, you successfully created not less than 10 different splinter groups, which used to be part of the same organisation at the beginning.
