Those who were never bothered (at all) about the flow of latrines over the surface of the streets and other pathways in Markato’s every corners and elsewhere in the capital city of the country were tipped to the edge and called: “get up and fight for Finfinne!” the moment they saw this beautiful scene of the nation’s historical site.

It could be that it is partly animated but still the imagination of beautifying a site in a city one claims to own shouldn’t bother someone, isn’t it? Something must be odd with us, I guess.

Among others those who have been calling constantly “Finfinne is ours” were upset when the site was renovated and became attractive, but why?

Instead of Addis somewhere else should have been beautified, according to their claim, it seems to me now.

Did I hear that this was also undertaken not even from the government coffer to cover the costs?

My own take on this is that "thank you for your imagination and effort to realize it"!

The next round of call to "get up and fight" will be made when the following project gets realised, somewhere in the next 3 or so years, according to the current plan.

One thing must be clear from now on, though: Addis will not be available for those who can't afford it. Did I hear also that New York in the US is also not affordable for the low-income citizens of the country?

So is life, there are someones who will win and there are others who will lose in the modern so called free economy. You can't have it both ways.

Addis Ababa will attract many tourists and the country as a whole will generate revenue from it while some fellow citizens, working folks of low-income, will get pushed out from the city because they can't afford it (any more).
