TPLF had nothing to do with Wegagen, only thing is that Aboy Sebhat worked there in some high position. But he is an individual, not the whole TPLF. I don't think that will sink well into your mind. EFFORT (Endowment Fund for the Rehabilitation of Tigray) only bought shares in it, but that was to help it start in 1997. All banks in Ethiopia use to sell shares when they first started and EFFORT only did it because part of the reason its institution was set up was to help boost the domestic economy that was devastated by war.

Could you at least say what was and what wasn't a lie according to your judgement, you guys believe on judgement not the actual facts and events that happen. Wegagen is a private company, and in 1997 it was hard to start a bank in Ethiopia. Also the war tension was starting to be felt around Ethiopia. Tigray didn't have a bank, but that wasn't important at the time. Wegagen opened up and said buy shares, so Effort bought some. It had the right to do so. Even when Anbessa bank opened up, my father bought large shares. Why would TPLF own it anyways? at the time it was in Arat Kilo, and could take loans from the IMF, CBE, .etc

DIdn't all those condominiums go to Oromo people, the money was distributed even and sometimes unevenly. We did favour Tigrayans, but only for the reason they wouldn't eat us up, and work from the inside like other ethnic groups. We are loyal and honest. Also, TIgrayans didn't really get that many privileges it was around the same as most other regions, only Tigrayans in Addis Ababa got it.
